Charms Club

Hey guys, I'm medens_lupus, aka Jay. I'm the mod of this community as weall as the head of Charms Club. If you wish to join this club, simply respond to this post. We're going to be talking about the various charms in canon and whenever i feel like having a contest you can make you own charms depending on the contest. I'm not sure how i'll work out prizes yet, but maybe i'll just do a nifty lil banner. We'll also be discussing how the class is run in canon. Seeing as how we know verly little about our beloved class, a lot will be lucky guesses. Friday is the best day for me, so i'll try to make a post with an activity every friday, but it'll be loose.

Consider this your application. There's no limit on how many members, i'm just doing this to be all official-like.

Pick a problem you deal with in everyday life and make up a charm for it. Use this latin-english dictionary if you have to.( http://humanum.arts.cuhk.edu.hk/Lexis/Latin/ ) Describe the wand movements and the incantation. As long as anything else that may be invlved.

Here's mine: Lumos veridis, the incantation to turn traffic lights green. The wand movement is a sharp jab at the offending traffic light and the mind should be filled with thoughts of what you will eb able to accomplish once you start moving again.

Animagus Club

Hey everyone, here's your new club leader with a message:

As of this moment no more applications for animagus will be taken!

Don't worry, this is just temporary. There's a *huge* list of applications the Animagus Board has to go through, so we're going to do that first. I'll let you know when we accept applications again!

Also, some people have been asking if their applications were forgotten. Don't worry, they're all there. There's just a lot of them, so it may take some time until we reach yours ;) I can't make a list of applicants because the voting is done anonymously, so you'll just have to be patient. Thanks for understanding!

Defense Against the Dark Arts

There was Quirrell, Lockhart, Lupin, Moody/Crouch and Umbridge. Each Hogwarts teacher was different, and some were more competent than others.

Needless to say, Messrs. Lupin and Moody/Crouch were the favorites. So enter, and we will take up where each of these professors left behind. We'll encounter dangerous beasts and study ways to defend ourselves. We'll emerge ourselves in the world of curses that harm other wizards and debate the morals that are inter-twined with these curses.

First, let me introduce myself. My name is Rachel, and I am your DADA Club Leader :) I am hoping to get this all put together this weekend, and when I do, we'll experience fun things like in-club debates, contests and study all of that which lurks in the dark corner.

Art Club Members:

Welcome to the studio! I'll start off by saying Art Club is a totally open club. You may join without an application; all you need is a little creativity and a desire to show off all the junk you make! We will be having contests and activities in the future, but I would really like to know who is interested in this club.

It would be silly to ask you to join without some idea of what's going on. This club will basically be an outlet for all of your creative streams. Yes, streams. There will be contests and activities, but you will also be welcome to post pictures that you may have created (under a cut, of course)--as long as it has something to do with the wizarding world. Any questions? Interested? Go ahead and comment with your name, house and a little bit of information--and, hey, if you have any, let me see your work! Graphics, scanned sketches--anything.
