DADA: Dark Arts in the Muggle World

Wizards and witches that dabble in the dark arts are tricky and never want to get caught, so hiding dark objects in the muggle world is a great way to make sure the Ministry workers will not detect your dark objects. However, the DADA club has caught on to this trick and we are charged with tracking down these dark objects is your first mission for the term.
Details
- Post a picture of the item/creature that you think is related to the Dark Arts.
- Write at least a 50 word reason on why this is related to the Dark Arts and what the item/creature does/causes/etc.

Date: 2011-01-13 02:11 am (UTC)Radios are a perfect tool for dark wizards to use, because muggles and wizards use them so often. What they do is encode certain songs with hidden messages that'll brainwash a muggle into going on a killing spree before killing themselves. If you're a wizard, it'll make it so that you hate muggles and muggleborns and support Voldemort. Donations are nice too, of course, as it takes a lot of money to be an evil lord. Haven't you ever seen Josie and the Pussie Cats? Where do you think they got the idea from?

A clever, scheming little wizarding device full of Dark magic that is disguised as one of the most (if not THE most) popular cellular phone in the muggle world today. (Cellular phones are these hand-held devices that muggles use to talk to each other over long distances). The iPhone was actually created by Dark witches and wizards in order to distract the muggles and engage them in a seemingly endless rows of "apps", or applications. The compelling nature of this device makes the muggles spend endless hours on their iPhone doing absolutely nothing productive, which allows the Dark witches and wizards to carry out their deeds in almost broad daylight without anyone noticing or paying attention. The iPhone is thus the most successful Muggle Distraction device to date, and it allows Dark magic to take one big step toward world dominion.

Date: 2011-01-14 08:10 am (UTC)Unicorns. These delightfully sparkly and magical creatures will prance their way into your heart and befriend you. While you are frolicking with them in a flowering field one day, they WILL turn on you. Just look at that horn, it is obviously an antenna to communicate with Voldemort. It will send out a beacon when your defenses are down and then LOL OH SHIT ALL THE DEATH EATERS INTERRUPT FROLICKING. :c

Date: 2011-01-14 11:09 pm (UTC)This is one of the most Dark of all Dark Objects, and is what Muggles like to refer to as a 'TV.' (Nowadays, they refer to some of them as HDTVs.) Muggles think this TV is merely providing them with entertainment or access to the world, but what they don't know is that this is Voldemort's way of spreading his message of evil. Muggles who watch these moving pictures (moving pictures? As if that doesn't tell you a Wizard must be involved!) find themselves practically hypnotized by whatever is on, spending hours and hours just staring at the screen while the Dark Lord's messages are subconsciously absorbed. Muggles don't realize that all those claims of Muggles feeling more violent after watching these TVs has really been the plan all along.

It is such a dark object that it has taken on a life and personality of its own, and is now referred to as if he is person! He is such a dark object that not only has he been exiled from Wizarding society, he has infiltrated Muggle society to such an extent that his face is instantly recognizable to much of the world. The reason he was exiled? Mind control. Mario is the Imperius curse in highly marketable form. He has games, toys, merchandise... he even has a bus.
His goal: total world domination in the name of Nintendo, the masters who wield him.
Progress: stunningly close to completion.
