The first book you remember reading for fun: In all honesty, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I never really read before it and well yeah, the rest is in the past now. I wrote my college essay on that in fact.

First book I remember reading for fun: Well, this is weird but I read The Scarlet Letter when I was six because one of my siblings brought it home from school. I read anything and everything. Still do. But I shared this one because it was unusual. Now I know I didn't understand it but I did read it.

The first book you remember reading for fun: I've literally been reading for fun my entire life, so the first books I read were children's stories. But, the first actual book of substance I can remember reading is Charlotte's Web.

The first book you remember reading for fun: Hmmm...the first one I remember is Little House in the Big Woods, followed quickly by the rest of the series. (Except for Farmer Boy, which I found incredibly boring for some reason. I did read it a few years later, and now it's one of my favorites of the series, but at 6, I just couldn't comprehend why I was supposed to care one bit about this boy!)

The first book you remember reading for fun: Since it is by memory (and I am really fricking old thereby not having much of a memory of my youth), I would have to say Edgar Rice Burroughs' At the Earth's Core. I preceded to immediately jump into the rest of the books in the series.

The first book you remember reading for fun: The first book I remember was about this young girl (like 2 years old) who had AIDS. There was a teenage girl volenteering at the hospital and she fell in love with the little girl. (The little girl didn't have parents.) End the end, the little girl died.

The first book you remember reading for fun: Oh man, I have to be honest and say that I have no idea. I've been reading for so long. Possibly one of the Baby Sitters Club books, possibly Bridge to Terabithia... or, if you want to get really technical, the baby books that I used to memorize even before I could read.

The first book you remember reading for fun: I....wow. I don't honestly remember when I made the switch to reading myself. (We were big on discussions and group reading....for example, we all have literally known the story of The Hobbit and the poetry of Robert Frost ALL OF OUR LIVES THANKS DAD.) I think the first thing I read for fun all by myself, without any parental/sibling involvement at all was an illustrated dictionary. I didn't know I still REMEMBERED that thing. /end ramble
