[identity profile] aurora-borialis.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] hh_clubs
Finally, I have gotten my act together! Well that meaning my RL has settled down and I don't have to worry about AP tests anymore. Whew! Okay now to the fun part.

Welcome to Astronomy Club! I'm Aurora ([livejournal.com profile] aurora_borialis) your club leader! In this club we will vote on a topic for each term. Mostly considering constellations, planets, nebulas, and the like. Any and all suggestions are definately welcome! You can e-mail me at Newbiegurli[at]comcast.net any time. We will, of course, be doing contests and the like. Well before all of that fun we need to get a roster going. The application is under the cut. Please leave it in a comment to this post.

Here is a sample application:

Name: Aurora
House: Hufflepuff
Reason you are joining Astronomy club: I absolutely adore the stars. I'm a sucker for nebulas. I have maybe about 12522 saved on my computer. I've always been fascinated with the subject of Astronomy. I love just looking out at the stars on a clear night. It's a great feeling.
Favorite star/constellation/planet/and/or nebula: My favorite star would have to be Betelgeuse (Alpha Orionis). It's the big, orange star in the corner in the constellation Orion during the Winter Solstice. I also love the Orion nebula. (The club banner is made with this nebula as its background)
Any subject of Astronomy you'd like to see covered?: Nebulae

And the one for you to copy and paste:

Thank you!

Cheers,
Aurora

Reason you are joining Astronomy club: I have always been facinated with stars and the galaxy. i had wanted to be an astronaut for the longest time until my mom squashed that dream because of my asthma
Favorite star/constellation/planet/and/or nebula: I think I'm going to go with Cassiopeia because i like the story behind it and im the only person among my group of friends who can find it, so i get much joy out of pointing it out to them.
Any subject of Astronomy you'd like to see covered?:Messier Objects, i know some information but i would always love to learn more.
