As the Animagus Board is slowly making progress working its way through the current applications, I think it's time to announce a new rule:
Before you apply to become an animagus, you have to buy the first 5 books of the Standard Book of Spells Series at
hh_diagon.
Why? Well, becoming an animagus is *difficult*. Not just any first year student can become one. The books symbolize the years you spend at Hogwarts and having 5 of them means you're a 5th year student (in this club) and able to become an animagus.
So, off you go, earn knuts, buy the books, then apply!
Please fill out the application using the code below and add at the end =)
Please comment below (in screened comments) with your application, and we will get back to you within a few days. Please be detailed in your application. Same goes for this one as the one for
platform_934: explain your answers. We have millions of animals to pick from, not just 4 houses, so help us out a little by giving a detailed application. Thank you!

Application Part Two
Date: 2005-09-12 03:07 pm (UTC)I love to read. You get transported away to these brilliant places that not only draw you in but inspire you in your life. Other than that I love to listen to music and play music, currently I play acoustic guitar very badly, but I'm going to start lessons, and I also play piano and love to sing. During the summer I sail/canoe when I'm at my cottage.
Are there any animals that you feel drawn to or a connection with?
Water birds (swans, ducks, loons... NOT the Canadian Goose because they've come to depend on others (ie humans) for food and survival, which I don't want my animal to do). There's just a certain amount of freedom associated with those animals that I love. If there's something on land that is attacking them, they can go on water, if there's something in the water, they can fly away. They nurture and care for their young, and some varieties have a sort of content independence that I want for myself.
Are there any animals you are afraid of?
CATS. I'm so allergic it's hilarious. Only not. Because it involves asthma and a lack of breathing. But otherwise, hilarious.
Why would you like to be an animagus?
It's something nice to think about when escaping the everyday. What kind of animal would I be... It's just very interesting to think about.
I bought the books (see here (http://www.livejournal.com/community/hh_diagon/5547.html?thread=288683#t288683)) the money just hasn't been taken away from my account yet. But I've got the knuts :)

Date: 2005-09-29 06:05 pm (UTC)Piping Plover -- You will most likely encounter the piping plover on an ocean beach, lake or river shore, or mudflats. It is endangered and generally uncommon—a rare breeder in the Midwest and a casual winter visitor to coastal California.
The call is a distinctive clear 'peep', 'peeto', or 'peep-lo', and the display song is whistled 'pooeep pooeep' with variations.
In order to complete your Animagus training, please submit a short essay (one page, double spaced length) on why you feel this animal compliments your personality to marije2308@yahoo.com . If you are not happy with the decision, please feel free to decline in a comment below (we have like.. 6 different options for you if you don't like this one XD). Once your essay is received, you will receive an official banner denoting your animal, and your name will be added to the Registered Animagus List. Thank you!

Date: 2005-10-05 05:48 pm (UTC)* Scarlet Tanager (this is the only other option that had multiple votes, so I recommend researching that one)
* Snipe
* Sanderling
* Magpie
Ok, so there were 4, not 6 ;) As you can see, we were all more or less thinking along the same lines, but just had some trouble pinpointing the right bird ^^

Date: 2005-10-09 03:14 pm (UTC)Some of the things I noticed you guys were looking for included song (Perhaps one of the most fascinating things about Common Loons is their haunting and variable voice), independance/small groups (Courtship and mating are a quiet time, with the pair swimming and making short dives together, etc.)
Anyways, let me know!
