Activity: Visual Hybrids!
Points: 10 points for initial entry, 2 points per extra entry, max of 30
Deadline: 30 December at 6 PM UTC
Details:
**NB slight change of rules!**
-Pick a character from any fandom you'd like.
-Figure out which hybrid you think they are(Gryffinpuff, Slytherclaw, etc etc) and make a graphic with them in it to convey this. You can use colours, crests, text, etc etc. As long as you're somehow visualising their hybrid, it's all good!
This gives you 10 points.
NB new rules because I changed my mind, sorry!:
If you want additional 2 points, here's what you do:
- Go to someone else's comment and make a graphic in reply to theirs. The hybrid graphic has to be a charcater from the SAME fandom as theirs, and the hybrid you choose has to be one that has not been used yet.
Example:
Person one: A graphic with Sheldon Cooper being a Slytherclaw
Person two: A graphic with Penny being a Gryffinpuff
ALSO:
You may also comment to someone else's repy, but you have to use a hybrid that has not yet been used.
So it can go:
Person A: A graphic with someone as a Slytherclaw
Person B: A graphic with someone as a Gryffinpuff
Person C: A graphic with someone as a Ravenpuff
Person D: A graphic with somene as a Slytherpuff
etc.
So every hybrid can only appear once in each thread ^^
I hope this is clear! If not, ask me below. I will also post my entry as an example for how a graphic may look (but there are very many other possibilities!)
(You may also make more graphics that is also not a reply to anyone else - that is, you can start a new thread with a new fandom/character - but this will only earn you points 3 times)
You're in safe hands (though I have none)for I'm a Thinking Cap! - Join the club to follow in the footsteps of the Sorting Hat!

Date: 2011-12-23 09:00 pm (UTC)So, I post and get ten points, and I can reply to someone's post and get two points, I get that. My questions:
Can I reply to someone else's reply? So, say, would this be ok?
Character A: slytherclaw
Character B: Gryffinpuff
Character C: slytherclaw
Character D: Gryffinpuff
Also, I'm not sure what this means -
You may also make more graphics that is also not a reply to anyone else, but this will only earn you points 3 times
Does it mean I can start a thread with a character from a new fandom three times and, if so, will I get ten points for each additional thread like I did for the first thread I started? If not how many points will I get?

Date: 2011-12-23 09:15 pm (UTC)I hadn't considered your first question, but I think I'll say for the sake of this activity that you can't reply to someone else's reply, only the main comment. But if someone else has commented, you can still comment if you choose a different character. You can also start the same fandom in a new thread if you want to :)Scratch that. I changed my mind XD You can reply to other people's comments, but it has to be with a hybrid that hasn't been used yet.
And yes, the quoted passage means you can start a thread with a character from a new fandom three times (or more if you'd like, but it only counts for points three times). But you will only get 10 points the first time you post, from then on out it's 2 points per graphic
Did that help? Sometimes I'm terrible at explaining things properly XD

Date: 2011-12-23 10:34 pm (UTC)I've just got one more thing, and I'm sorry I'm ebing a pain but when you say you can reply to a comment with a hybrid that hasn't been used yet, do you mean character because the hybrid would have to be the opposite of the character you're replying to, right. Like, in your example thread I could post in reply to muffinpatronus with a slytherclaw (the opposite hybrid) as long as it was a character who hadn't already been used?

Date: 2011-12-23 10:43 pm (UTC)Scratch the whole thing about opposite hybrids, instead you may reply to a thread with any hybrid that hasn't been used. And people may continue to the thread until every hybrid has been used once, but only once per thread.
I hope this makes sense, damn me for being so indecisive XDD

Date: 2011-12-24 02:04 am (UTC)"10 points for initial entry, 2 points per extra entry, max of 30"
^ So I take that to mean that we get 2 points for every comment we make on someone else's entry. Since the max is 30 points, are we allowed to post 3 separate entries and max out that way?

Date: 2011-12-24 02:07 am (UTC)You can begin 3 new threads (i.e not in reply to anyone), but they'll still be 2 points. The reason I capped htem is that I'd like for people to build on each other's comments rather than maxing out on starting new threads ^^
