Oopsies....a little late because I was getting wings work ran late tonight but here you go! :)

Activity: Potter Plants
Details: Turn your favorite Harry Potter character into a plant! Explain why you think that the plant you've chosen fits them. Comment on other people's "Potter plants" with why you agree or disagree.
Points: Long debate style: 10 points for your first comment; 2 pts for anything posted after; cap of 30 pts possible.

I think Cho Chang would be a hydrangea. They are known as mainly ornamental flowers and that really seems to be all Cho is in the books (despite her Seeker abilities). First she is an ornament on Cedric's arm and then on Harry's. If not cared for regularly hydrangea collapse, just as Cho did during the fifth book. Also, the hydrangea can be toxic if ingested, and since Cho was the one who brought poison into Dumbledore's Army (her friend Marietta Edgecombe), I think the similarities between her and the flower are there.

This amuses me. With the way you describe it, it definitely fits, but it makes me laugh. I like the way you describe this, especially since you point out the way Cho is portrayed throughout the books as being mainly ornamental. The flower you picked was perfect because it is a combination of ornamental and toxic (and I liked how you described her toxicity, that made me laugh).

I'm also amused by the "poisons" comparision. It seems quite true, considering Cho's unhelpfulness- and it was beyond frustrating to watch her poison the group like that.

At first I was confused as to why you chose this one, but your explanation is spot on! It really makes a lot of sense, especially because of the poisonous element. Nobody thought she could do any harm because she was just a side character, but she was a major factor in bringing down the DA

Fabulous comparison - it translates well to the film adaptation as well. In the film, it was Cho who surrendered the information on the DA - the weakness of the hydrangea in full display.

This is funny but also accurate. I'm sure there is more to Cho than we saw, but JKR never let us see that. She does seem to be arm candy for all of the popular boys.

I agree with this. I think it is also fitting that depending on the soil/nutrients/environment the flowers can be different colors. I think this kind of shows her waffling with the whole Cedric/Harry love triangle thing craziness. ... cause THAT made sense.
