Well, the wand wood was chosen based on the Celtic calendar. Dragon heartstring is good for hexes, which are usually used as offensive spells rather than defensive. I definitely am more of an attacking-style person (in sports), so I think it suits me. Ten is a nice, round, balanced number. Not too long, not too short. I like some sort of stablity, hence this number. I'm a flexible person... rules are guidelines to me, so my wand won't be all hard and stuff, but able to adapt.
