Black laurel is a very strong wood, it is great for offensive spells, which obviously would assist me in attacking and finishing off my opponent- as a rather aggressive person it plays on my strengths very well. It also holds many protection properties which are essential for defending myself in a duel which assist my self preservation. The dragon heartstring represents wisdom as well as fierceness, which affects how I react in a duel- I'm a quick thinker and can react quickly but often doubt myself so that would help me quickly counter my opponent's spells and gain the upper hand when I'm not sure of myself. The core is unyielding, as is the hardness of my wand- I'm the kind of person who usually tries to avoid conflict but if I am in a duel I will not back down until I win and the qualities of the core and hardness reflect this.
I'm quite a sneaky person as well, I look all nice and sweet but am secretly a BAMF tbh, and I like having a small wand that looks all delicate and sweet and lull you into a false sense of security, then bam, you lose.
