Severus sat in the shadows of the trees surrounding the old playground, long after the light had faded, long after he had watched Lily and James leave. He stared down at the letter he clutched tightly in his hands, seeing the words in his mind despite the fact it was too dark to read now. (It also killed the need to stop the silent tears.) One phrase kept playing over and over, eclipsing everything else he had written.

'I can't apologize enough for what I did that day. If I could take it all back, I swear I would, Lily. You're the only person who has ever been truly here for me, and this summer has been absolutely barren for me without you to talk to, spend time with. I would do absolutely anything for you if you would just talk to me again like you used to.'

"That's not going to bloody well happen anytime soon," Severus whispered to himself, slightly surprised that his voice hadn't stopped working. He slowly stood up, wincing at the way his body protested after sitting like that for hours, and he finally managed to shamble out into the clearing of the playground, giving it one last long look before raising his eyes to the sky. Even the stars looked a little less bright to him tonight. It was like everything he had hoped for had been shattered today. All from one little kiss.

A choked sob left him and he looked down angrily at the letter that laid crumpling in his hands. Without another thought, before he could reget it, he pulled his wand from his back pocket and touched it to the paper, mumbled a few words, and watched as the corner caught fire. He held it until the whole thing had burned away to ash, not caring when the flames burned his fingers. It didn't matter anymore. She wasn't his. Maybe she'd never been his. Maybe this was the way it was supposed to be.

Severus brought his hand up to pinch at the bridge of his nose, and let out a sigh. "I love you, Lily," he whispered into the empty night, shuddering as he stepped out of the playground and back into the darkness of the trees.

Entry 6. Drabble

She was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. The slender figure, her fieriness as was in her name. Everyone wanted her. Every single solitary boy with testosterone desired her with all their heart, wanting to reach out and grab her, take her away on the grandest ride ever that would last for hours. I would trade the lightning bolt-shaped scar on my head and my Chocolate Frog card gladly just to hold her in my arms.

She wasn't something that I could just pluck out and grab though. She was the only one of its kind. There weren't any duplicates; not that they would ever be good enough. No one was brilliant as her. Everyone wanted her, to hold her in their arms, and kiss her. Would it be me?

But there was a price. Always a price. So expensive a price too. Oh, what Ron would say! What Mister Weasley would exclaim! Would I ever be allowed to caress her soft–

"Harry! Let's go!"

I turned around. "But–"

She rolled her eyes. "It's just a broomstick, dear!"

"But it's the only one of its kind! It's supposed to be the best of the best! Ginny, please–"

She gave me a look. I sighed and moved away from the glass window featuring the brilliant broomstick, Firebolt Three, the only one in the world right now. Probably would cost more than all the Galleons in my Gringotts vault. I sighed.

Ginny hooked her arms with mine. She smiled at me. "Isn't it better to have a wife than a broomstick?"

"Um..."

"A yes would be the proper answer, dear."

Entry 7. Drabble

The weather was rather pleasant for a garden party, which was one of the reasons his father Abraxas threw one. Everyone who was anyone came; at the veranda, he greeted them.

A flash of the Black features caught his eye, though dark in hair. He rather hoped for Andromeda, as that would have meant Narcissa was shortly behind, but his luck was foul. A high pitch laugh twisted his ears. “I know what you want, Lucius,” Bellatrix cackled as she curtsied, “and I am watching you.”

“I am a gentleman, Bellatrix,” he reminded her.

“Gentleman all desire the same thing.”

Entry 8. Pencil sketch - Sirius and Regulus at a Quidditch Match

Entry 9. Baking - Harry Potter Sugar Cookies!

Ingredients:
• 3/4 cup butter flavored shortening
• 1 cup white sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1 tablespoon milk
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1 teaspoon salt

1. In a large bowl, cream together the shortening and white sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the milk and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt; stir into the creamed mixture. Cover dough, and refrigerate for at least one hour. (Or freeze for 10 mins)
2. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease cookie sheets, or line with parchment paper. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to 1/4 inch in thickness. Cut into desired shapes. Place cookies 1 1/2 inches apart onto cookie sheets.
3. Bake for 6 to 8 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove cookies from baking sheets to cool on wire racks. Cool completely before stuffing your face. ENJOY!
