The second activity for March is going to be an epic DUELING TOURNAMENT. I'm hoping to have (live!) duels run on 2-3 days, depending on the amount of interest, and then the winners from each day will duel so we can crown a champion. Participants will receive 10 points participation plus 1 point for every duel you win, +5 points for winning a day, and +15 points for ultimately winning the tournament. (The winner gets a shiny sigtag/banner, too. XD)
Duels will be determined mostly by 1. casting speed and 2. knowledge of counter- and anti-spells. Duelists will be divided up into a tournament chart, and winning duels is the only way to progress to the next level.
In each duel, I will post a new comment saying "A and B, en guard.. duel!" or the like. A and B then reply directly to my comment with their attacks. Casting first gets you +1 Duel Points (not real points sry XD). You then have an opportunity to retaliate. You'll have 2 minutes to reply to your opponent's attack with something which might counteract it or fight back if you're still able. Casting something which your opponent is unable to counteract gives you +1. This repeats so each duel has three such rounds, and the duelist with the most DPs at the end is the winner of the duel and moves forward.
I will be the judge/referee and will be checking spells to make sure they're legit and acceptable. Please note certain Dark Spells (like sectumsempra) will be banned. This is a tournament, not a duel to the death. 8D
If you would like to sign up, please fill out this survey and I'll announce the times and days and let people pick shortly! (Just say, for example, that weekday afternoons are great for you but evenings are bad, or weekend nights are good but daytime not so much, etc etc.)
Also, don't forget to get in some last-minute practice before tomorrow night!

- Weekday evenings [5:00PM - 9:00PM] and Weekends [3:00PM - 10:00PM] are fine with me. :)
- Any mornings are bad, as are weekdays from 8:00 - 4:00. [ah, school..]
- And, this would depend on the days provided to choose from, but Monday & Tuesday of next week, I cannot be home until 8:00 PM. :\
EDIT: Almost forgot.. Please not this weekend for me. I'm going to be MIA from the internet; rather hard to conduct a duel without access, no? ;)
I rather hope that wasn't too much information, haha. XD

Date: 2009-03-27 01:03 am (UTC)Re: Attn FoxandSquirrel and LinaInverse!
Date: 2009-03-27 01:50 am (UTC)Round 1:
FoxandSquirrel: 1 + 1 (speed)
LinaInverse: 1
Round 2:
FoxandSquirrel: 1
LinaInverse: 1 +1 (speed) +1 (uncountered)
Round 3: FoxandSquirrel: 1
This WOULD be a tie, but LinaInverse forfeited by not completing round 3, so the winner is FoxandSquirrel! Please look for your next duel in the comments!
