Restricted Section: Lets get some activities going!

So I'm just playing with this club for now. I might take it over, but we'll see. I'm not going to put up a roster yet. But I am going to try and get some discussion going!

So, I'd like members of this club (and just random students passing through) to go to this site and select one short story that they'd like to read and discuss.

If there's not much feedback/etc I'll pick one, and I have, uhm, strange tastes so we don't want that! XD

(Oh and possibilities and rushofsilence each receive 10pts for participating in the last discussion held.)

Well, this probably won't be useful to you but I thought I'd at least let you know I read the message and checked out the site... and proceeded to be overwhelmed with the volume of stories concluding that I simply couldn't decide. If no one else offers a suggestion, I'm up for seeing what your strange tastes involve :)

Ah, I probably would have gone for something like The Red Room (http://www.twilightharbor.com/moonmistress/stories/RedRoom.html) by H.G. Wells because I have such love for that story.

Even though I know it's not on that list, but I'm annoyingly difficult like that!

But we have suggestions, two for Poe so far, so...

Just a random student passing through the library...but I'm really tempted to join this club as well...it speaks to my English major heart. =D

'A Shameful Affair' by Kate Chopin off that site looks pretty interesting. I read The Awakening for class last semester by Chopin and it was really good. I'd be interested to see if her short stories were just as good as her novellas.

(and because I too have strange tastes, and even though you said only one story, I'm also going to recommend The Masque of the Red Death (http://poestories.com/text.php?file=masque) by Edgar Allen Poe. It's fantastic, but a little weird, as most Poe stories tend to be.)

Ah, I have no limits really, just didnh't want someone reccing a whole freakin' list! :D

See I've had another suggestion in another part of the comm for a Poe story, mainly because halloween is coming up, and what better a time for that to be read!

It might be interesting to see about Chopin, something I could keep in mind for next month/week/whatevers short story? We'll see :)

The one i recced is pretty interesting...but Tell-Tale Heart is always a good one. =) The Raven's another good one, but i don't know if ppl are up for lyric poems...

I would say, being that it is the Haunting month (favorite month of the year :D), anything by E.A. Poe.

I also noticed one of Aesops Fables up there...I love those, and they are really short but with very important morals. Those would be nice to do at some point.

Fellow Ravenclaw passing through here...I agree Poe would be great!
