To understand the book, is it necessary to read the previous books? Is this book typically available from the library?

I wish I knew, but I've never read them, either. I would imagine, though, that they are available in a library.

i was wondering the same thing. like why would we read a book that is part of a series and not the first book. I imagine it would be alright though since most books *especially youth books* always recap if you missed stuff of vital importance.
