C o n t e s t # 2
[There were streaks of grey in his mane of tawny red hair and his bushy eyebrows; he had keen yellowish eyes behind a pair of wire-rimmed spectacles and a certain rangy, loping grace even though he walked with a slight limp.]
If you haven't guessed, this week's contest is about your interpretation of Rufus Scrimgeour. I want you to draw your own Rufus, whether you do it on paper with pencil, paint him, draw him in photoshop, photo-manip him into a whole from other pictures, is up to you. The only limitation I'm setting is size. Again, no bigger than 600 X 400. If you feel your drawing is better viewed in a larger format, post a small version and link to the bigger one. I will accept entries until 5th 11PM EST, at which point I will post a poll (because I can do that now!, squee) and we'll decide which Rufus is our favourite. I hope you don't feel limited because I want you guys to express your interpretations of the reading above. It doesn't have to be realistic, it can be a cartoon, it can be anime, in any form you're comfortable with and most creative with. I want to see a diversity of entries, ^.^.
Please include a link to your Rufus and your name and house with your entry.

T I P S - drawing people
If you're like me and sometimes have trouble transfering characters from your head to your page than these tips are for you: - Traditional rules of proportion show the face divided into six equal squares, two by three. - The upper horizontal division is roughly at the 'third eye' level mid-forehead, the lower at the base of the nose - The eyes sit on the horizontal centre, the mouth on the centre of the lower third taken from here, check out the site, it gives you some helpful pictures.
For the figure: - An average person, is generally 7-and-a-half heads tall (including the head). - An ideal figure, used when aiming for an impression of nobility or grace, is drawn at 8 heads tall. - An heroic figure, used in the heroic for the depiction of gods and superheroes, is eight-and-a-half heads tall(beware of creating a 'pinhead!') Most of the additional length comes from a bigger chest and longer legs. taken from here
