The memberlist/application is here. It has not been updated yet.
For this week’s activity we’ll be doing a participation type of a different sort. As members of the Charms club you’re all familiar with different types of spells, correct? *Hears a unanimous ‘yes’* I will be giving you all a sample situation where the need for a spell (or maybe two!) is needed to save the day. It is preferable if you don’t use the same spells that someone else did already, if you do however, it’s still fine. Just make your situation as different from the other person as possible. I encourage creativity! Using the unusual charm and making it work in this situation will earn you a brownie. There’s no definite right answer.
In case people don’t understand what I’m getting at, this will kind of be like an rp tag. I open and you conclude. You must mention use of at least one charm, its wand movement if it exists and the effects the charm has. Of course, remember to sign with your name and house ♥
There have recently been many noises coming from this room at night. Whispers of blood chilling horror, unexplained shadows and lights with the occasional seductive scents of honey. You brace yourself, expecting the worse as you enter the room and hear the door quickly shut behind you. Upon a quick survey of the room you notice nothing out of the ordinary besides an exceptional amount of dust and – “wham!” What was that? You think to yourself and quickly look left and right trying to pick out anything, just anything that might’ve made that noise.
It takes you another few seconds of searching before you spot it. Orange and black stripes. First one and then more and more flying, or rather, buzzing around behind a cloth covered closet. The Giant Barnacle Bees; a whole nest of them. Each one almost the size of your palm in length.
“Please capture them all alive~!” comes the voice of your Club leader from beyond the door. That was easy for her to say. You return your attention to the Bees, first you need to protect yourself from their stingers, second would come the capture.
You have until the 20th of January to clear the room!

Date: 2006-01-15 09:14 pm (UTC)My mind raced, how was I to capture these huge bees alive? One false move and hundreds of them would decend on me and sting me to... well... death!
Then I remembered something. In the fourth year I had seen Ron Weasley stop a bee mid air with the Impediment Jinx. I decided to try it.
I poised my wand and cried; "Impedimenta!"
The first thing I noticed was the noise. The constant buzzing and droning that had filled the air just moments ago had stopped. The bees, some of them almost teh size of my fist, hung, still in the air, hundreds of them like snowflakes on a Christmas card. Although slightly more stipey and a lot more deadly...
Now how to get them out of here?
I picked up a huge sack that had been thrust in my hand as my task had been explained to me, I'd almost forgotten about it. I had an idea.
I took a deep breath and pointed my wand at the nearest bee to me. It was hanging a few inches in front of my face and if it is possible for a bee to look confused, that one certainly did.
"Locomotor Giant Barnacle Bee"
As I moved my wand the bee followed it through the air, and into the sack. I exhaled. A sigh of relief.
One down, hundreds more to go... I thought.
It took over an hour, being as careful as possible to move the bees, in case the Impedimenta jinx wore off, but enentually the air was cleared of floating bees.
I tied a knot in the side of the sack and gently lifted it and took it out of the door, my task completed!
