hh_clubsWelcome to the first competition for Shutterbug Society! We know, we don't have to post this week, but we've got so many fun ideas planned that we just didn't want to let them sit and waste away - besides, we thought we'd give everybody a little extra time to get their photos together this time. If you haven't applied to the Shutterbug Society yet, you can do so here! You must be a member in order to participate!
Now, for the first contest!
Competition #1: Character Portraits
We do it every day: we re-cast the characters of the Harry Potter movies and films; we become our own casting directors; we take charge, take other actors, and use our imaginations to see them in the films. The idea here is the same, with a photographic twist: surely you know someone (or have seen someone, someplace that you that you frequent) that reminds you of how you invision the characters, be it Harry, Hermione, Ron, or a minor character in the series. The idea behind this contest challenges you to find a person who you would view as the perfect Harry, the perfect Professor Dumbledore, etc., and capture that essence into a photograph. You can choose any character that you wish, but it must be a character in canon.
Note: These should be candid shots, meaning, your job is not to dress someone up in a scarf and tie. Let us use our imaginations to picture them in school uniforms or professor clothes.
Requirements
[x] Photos can be either black and white or color.
[x] You may share up to four photos for participation points, but one of the four photos must be designated for the contest entry. The contest entry designated photo will receive 10 points, and every other will receive 5.
[x] The four photos you submit do not have to be the same character.
[x] You may also post additional photos if you like, but they will not receive points.
[x] Use of photo-editing should be judicious; use it wisely, and use it well.
[x] Please post your photos as LINKS, not img src's.
Deadline: Sunday, October 23 at midnight.
