As the Animagus Board is slowly making progress working its way through the current applications, I think it's time to announce a new rule:

Before you apply to become an animagus, you have to buy the first 5 books of the Standard Book of Spells Series at hh_diagon.

Why? Well, becoming an animagus is *difficult*. Not just any first year student can become one. The books symbolize the years you spend at Hogwarts and having 5 of them means you're a 5th year student (in this club) and able to become an animagus.

So, off you go, earn knuts, buy the books, then apply!

House:Hufflepuff

Best Trait: i feel that my best trait is the fact that I get along with just about everyone. I'm not the type of person who has enemies. I can see the good in the people that everyone else hates. I just find it hard to hate someone because they stole so and sos boyfriend. Now if they did something really bad, I might feel some hatred, but generally, I'm the nice all loving person. I'm not saying that everyone loves me, I'm just saying that I'm not hated and I don't hate which i think is a very good thing.

Worst Trait: I think that my worst trait is that I speak out a lot without thinking. I do care a lot about people's feelings, it's just that I sometimes don't think about what I'm saying before I say it. This can cause me to feel guilty and the other person to end up feeling hurt or confused. This may end up in a fight (I do try to aviod those though, I don't really like confrontations) or become a huge misunderstanding. It may also result in the two of us not liking each other very much. I'm a very loud and outgoing person so some people don't understand that what I say is not always what I mean. I may say something like, hey! I think your handwriting is beautiful. The other person may think that I am being sarcastic and end up being angry with me. (real life example...)

What would you want your animal form to be most capable of? I would want my animal form to be able to run really fast, and not tire easily. I have always loved going at really fast speeds and running, when you're in the mood, is absolutly wonderful. It would be amazing to just be able to run and never stop. It would also be useful because you could get away from your enemies easily, and they would be tired before i would.

Choose one of the following -- Air, Water, Earth I would choose the Earth because I think that it it so beautiful and I feel most connected with it. I have always considered myself more as a land person than someone who loves being in water all of the time or someone who could float in the air all day with no support. I like my two feet to be on something. I like the Earth more because it is huge and you can go to virtually any where at any time and never run out of places to go. It's like a place waiting for adventures and the like. I also like how there are so many places to hide and be alone at when you need to go somewhere to just spend time with yourself. The world is huge, if you don't want to be found then you can go somewhere where no one can find you.

Warm or cool? I would choose warmth because I associate being warm with happiness. If you're happy then you get a warm fuzzy feeling inside of you. It feels great. Coldness is like sadness. it doesn't really go away and is so hard to get rid of. The only way to get rid of it is to somehow become warm. When you are cold, it's really hard to find some way to get warm and stay warm. It's really easy when you're warm to cool down and hang out. It gives you a sense of peace.

Morning or evening? I would choose the evening just because I really don't like to wake up in the morning. I hate getting up and starting a new day. I like then end of the day more when I know everything is done with and I can just sit back and relax. It's also the time when school's generally over so I can just go home or hang out with friends. i don't have to worry so much about school work or about all the drama at school.

Do you like to have people around you or are you more of a loner? I usually like to be around people because I am more of an outgoing and social person. I love to talk and if no one's around then I can't talk to anyone. I can laways have a lot of fun with people and we can share our ideas and be stupid. If i was alone all of the time I would probably become depressed or something. I wouldn't be able to stand it being so quiet all of the time.

My hair is about shoulder length now and its a bit lighter. I'm about 5 ft 7 in.

What are your favorite hobbies and extracurricular activities? I play softball like 24/7. I'm on a club softball team and you have to be really commited and have to give up your sould because that is your life. I love playing softball because I love the people and the sport. I also go on lj all of the time. i love meeting the new people here and it gives me a great place to rant. I'm also big on reading books. If I think it's interesting then I'll read it. I also enjoy hagning out with my friends. We have some great times together.

Are there any animals that you feel drawn to or a connection with? I don't really think that I have a connection to another animal. I just really like dogs and cats. Dogs are so loyal and can tell when you're sick and stuff, it's just really great. Household cats can tell that too. Dogs are so fun and playful and they give you someone to talk to (seriously) if no one will listen. As for cats, I like the big jungly types. They're so fierce and fast, it's just awesome!

Are there any animals you are afraid of? I, like Ron, and not because of Ron, do not like Spiders. They creep me out how they move and things like that. I really hate the big ones. They have too many legs... I also don't really like bees but that's because they're annoying more than anything.

Why would you like to be an animagus? I always thought that animals were pretty cool. I just think it'd be cool to become one of them, and be like them. See if they accept you and the like. Ever since I found out that there was such a thing in Harry Potter I thought that it would be the coolest power ever. Transfiguration has also always been one of the top things to really catch my eye. The marauders were also animagus and i heart them!

Hey, I'm brand new to the community, so I don't quite have my knuts and such yet...I'm hardcore trying to participate, but I haven't had time to check my account, vault, etc yet. coaltrain_613 said he would vouch for me if I went ahead and applied since it takes a long time anyway, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to try. <3 Hope I'm not being too much trouble.

House: Hufflepuff

Best Trait:
I'm a good listener, and I try to comfort people when their upset. I'm very empathetic and look for the good in people before the bad, often sympathizing with things that most would write off on instant sight.

Worst Trait:
I'm horribly indecisive, and I have a tendency to be kind of selfish sometimes too. I've never been a very good decision maker.

What would you want your animal form to be most capable of?
Man, this is a toughie. Umm...Nothing really springs immediately springs to mind...I guess subtle protection. I know my personality isn't really offensive in my defense, so it wouldn't make sense to have an animal form that was really violent in protection. So I guess a way to defend myself without hurting the harmer.

Choose one of the following -- Air, Water, Earth
As unhelpful as it is, I've got a fascination with all three. (I know that's not an answer, but I told ya, I'm indecisive!) I've always wondered what it'd be like to fly, but the water is also a soothing to me, and I will always adore land, in all honesty. I'll probably have to go with earth ultimately though because it's got so much to it. There are beautiful forests and mountains and waterfalls (which ties into water a bit, but shh) and it's just beautiful. And I generally like the security of earth, heh.

Warm or cool?
Warm. I don't like being cold, and I'm really sensitive to it. I don't like being hot, per se, but I like being at that comfortable warm temperature. Like late spring and early fall weather. Pre-jacket or post-jacket weather. :)

Morning or evening?
Evening. I'm definitely just not a morning person. I don't really like waking up, and there's just something about being up when everyone else is asleep that's exciting. Well, that's assuming that evening ties in with night too. The same could go for morning, but again, I'm not big on waking up early. Besides, the stars are pretty, and the sounds of crickets are relaxing.

Do you like to have people around you or are you more of a loner?
I like having people around me. I'm big on having a support system and feeling accepted. I, like most people, like having plenty of time to myself, but overall, I like having people around me.

What are your favorite hobbies and extracurricular activities?
I love to read and write and chill out on the computer. Escaping from reality is really nice sometimes. I love drawing and playing around with making layouts and icons for LJ too. I'm in choir because I enjoy singing. I looove listening to music and hanging with my friends. I like being goofy...errr...even though that's not really a hobby. Shhh. I'm not really terribly athletic, so I'm not big on sports that much. I'm more of a watcher when it comes to sports, as I'm more into the arts.

Are there any animals that you feel drawn to or a connection with?
Cuddly animals like puppies and kitties and rabbits. Heh. There's just something about the closeness and affection when they're soft and comfortable. I like that cuddly and protective feeling. (Umm...I'm kind of repeating myself a lot...heh.) Like that feeling of unconditional love and loyalty, and there's just something about affectionate animals that nuzzle you that really get me.

Are there any animals you are afraid of?
I'm scared of snakes and things that sting...like bees...except bees are insects...but still. I'm scared of...err...really, really dangerous animals in general? And icky icky insects...and...jellyfish.

Why would you like to be an animagus?
Because not just anyone can do it. Because I've always liked animals. Sure, I grew out of my "omg!I-wanna-be-a-vet!" phase, but I still love animals and find the concept of animaguses (err, I guess that would be grammatically correct...?) to be interesting. Not to mention, there's no need to deny my fascination with the Marauders. :)

Prairie Dog -- Prairie Dogs are the most social members of the Squirrel Family and are closely related to ground squirrels, chipmunks and marmots. Recent studies suggest that Prairie Dogs possess the most sophisticated of all natural animal languages. They apparently issue different sounds identifying various predators, which include hawks, owls, eagles, ravens, coyotes, badgers, ferrets and snakes. Prairie Dogs can run up to 35 miles per hour for short distances. The Prairie Dog has only one defense that works -- raising the alarm and disappearing quickly.

Best Trait: I've been told that my creativity is my best trait. Some may see this from my shop over at hh_flourish, but it is so much more than that. In the past few weeks, I created my own pumpkin design from scratch (it was the movie poster from POA), I've worked on logo designs and web buttons for my mom's contemporary Christian music group, 'NSpyr!, and I've created a fiction to song (it's a 2 disc CD compilation and I've broken down all the tracks and created a coherent story that goes with it).
Worst Trait: It may not seem like it, but I'm the biggest procrastinator in the world. I'm actually proud that the only thing that I don't procrastinate on is all most of the stuff in HiH. I mean, I even waited until the last minute to vote on all the apps in P934. It's so bad!
What would you want your animal form to be most capable of? I think I would wan tmy animal form to be very independant. One that could survive "standing on it's own two feet" to put it in a very non-animal way. One that could take care of itself if it had to. One that had a certain amount of inner strength.
Choose one of the following -- Air, Water, Earth Definitely Air. My best example of this is that whenever I went to, like, amusement parks and such when I was younger, I just loved being in one of the carriages of the Ferris Wheel, because I loved feeling the wind rushing thru my hair and fingertips. It's such a refreshing and peaceful experience!
Warm or cool? I would have to say cool. I literally love to be freezing cold at night with all my blankets. I can't stand to have the heat on, and in the summer, I cannot live without my air conditioner/fans running. So yeah, definitely cool.
Morning or evening? I'm so nocturnal. It's 1:20 where I am right now, if that gives you any indication. It's not been diagnosed, but I actually (well, I wouldn't say I suffer...) have insomnia, and I'm lucky if I get 4-5 hours a night. It's not by choice, I just don't sleep.
Do you like to have people around you or are you more of a loner? I'm a little bit of both. On one hand, I love my friends, and I love being around people at work (I work in Retail). On the other, I like my private time, whether I'm reading a book, or watching a program on TV, what have you, so yeah, I'd say that the two traits are pretty equal when it comes to me.

What are your favorite hobbies and extracurricular activities? Right now, LJ, but I'm also involved with my church choir, I am a total Movie Buff, I write, I make graphics like sigs and icons. (I'm such a nerd) I also knit, and sew.
Are there any animals that you feel drawn to or a connection with? I've always had a fascination with birds, particularly hawks. I've always been very independent, and basically waiting for my moment when I could fly away from here. Cornball I know, but there's something about the fact that a bird can just lift themselves in the air and just fly to wherever, I guess I kinda associate that with becoming an adult.
Are there any animals you are afraid of? Snakes. They make me scream every time I'm near one. There's just something about the fact that they have no appendages, they just slither. **shivers**
Why would you like to be an animagus? I think it would be interesting to find out what my animal familiar would be. Like, to see if what you guys choose for me is quite like me, because I'm sure it would be. Oh, and because all the cool kids are doing it ^_^.

Nightingale -- The elusive and romantic Nightingale is a long distance migrant cousin of the familiar garden Robin. It is to the ear that this bird appeals so much. Some people prefer the songs of other species but it is invariably in the top three of any bird song enthusiast. It has much going for it. It is strong, varied and musical. There are very few other birds, and none as striking, which sings at night and is only active for a few weeks in the late spring.

Ermine -- The Ermine is a type of a weasel. The Ermine is brown in the summer and in the winter they are white exept the tip of their tail. Ermines camouflage to hide from their enemies. They have a good smell and vision, run through snow easily and are ferocious hunters.

My Application, Part 1

House: Ravenclaw
Best Trait:
The ability to be alone, yet still understand humans. I'm rather fond of the fact that I don't need very many friends to help me along in life. I have one very close friend (my sister), but other than the time I spend with her, I spend all of my time alone. Unless I'm at school, but I don't really talk to many people at school. Mostly, I just observe, so I understand a lot about people in general. This makes me rather empathetic, so I will help people who come to me, and need it, because I can understand them. But I mostly like to keep to myself, unless I'm starting some sort of trouble. However, I usually start the trouble by myself.

Worst Trait:
My messiah complex. A lot of the time I think that I alone can save the world. I see so many things hideously wrong, and they hurt me so deeply because I am such an empath. Then, I get it into my head that I have to help all of these people, and that I can help all of these. When I discover that this really isn't the way things work, I get discouraged and depressed, because I'm in so much pain because these other people are in pain, but I can't do much at all to help. I can't fix everything, but I still think I should be able to. Sometimes my causes devour my entire mind for weeks at a time, causes like feminism, gay rights, AIDS, etc. I love my causes more than I love people, often more than I love myself. I know I would die for them, if push came to shove, and that scares me sometimes.

What would you want your animal form to be most capable of?
Going unnoticed. I don't necessarily want it to be small, but it would be nice to be an animal that isn't very exotic, and that you can find in most places around the world. I don't like to attract attention all the time. I want to have the ability to blend in when I need to, so I don't want to be some gaudy exotic bird that sticks out everywhere but a rainforest. I also want my animal form to be capable of protecting itself, so something that could fend off offenders with some sort of weapon.

Water. Water represents life and death. Without it, you cannot live. With too much of it, you will die. I like the duality that water presents, and also the power. Water surges and pounds and weathers and drowns. Watching a swiftly flowing river in rapids, or a gigantic waterfall, or huge waves on an ocean always amazes me, because it's just water, but so much more. Water is amazing and refreshing. I never get tired of swimming because it makes me feel so new.

Warm or cool?
Cool. When I'm too warm, I get all sleepy and it gives me headaches. That never happens when I'm cold. You can only take so many clothes off when you're warm, but you can keep layering on clothes after clothes when you're cold. Also, I'm mildly obsessed with the Arctic, because I love the way the animal life can survive in that incredible cold. And I just like how silent it always is in the snow. Silence makes me so happy. Cold is amazing.

Morning or evening?
Evening. I absolutely despise mornings. I'm always too tired to get anything done, and grumpy to boot. Evening is so much more interesting with all the stars and the quiet. I can always do more work of any kind at night, when the house is quiet, and the neighborhood is quiet. Everything is just much clearer to me in the evening, when I finally wake up mentally.

Do you like to have people around you or are you more of a loner?
Definitely a loner. I like people as an abstract idea, and I am rather fond of humanity, but introduce to real people and I will unfailingly find a reason to not like them. Something always bothers me about a person. I always end up driving people away because they annoy me too much, and it's really too much work for me to put up with people who annoy me when I really don't need friends to be happy. There is one person I always get along with. She is my only friend, and she is really all I need.

Buzzed brown hair. Over-sized green eyes. Normal-shaped facial features other than the eyes. Average body type, not muscular or skinny, but not chubby either. Very distinct feminine curves. About 5'6" tall.

What are your favorite hobbies and extracurricular activities?
Reading is my ultimate favorite activity. I can't stand going a day without reading at least a little bit of a book. I also like to watch a lot of movies, good ones, not just fluffy ones. Although fluff can be good sometimes. I don't really play any sports because they don't leave me enough time to be alone and read and such. I'm not much of a team player. I do, however, enjoy tae-kwon-do. I'm nearly a black belt. I am the student coordinator and founder of my school's chapter of Amnesty International, so I spend a lot of my time planning things for the group, like protests and vigils and fund raisers. It's a wonderful club, and the work is very psychologically rewarding. I also write when I have time. Mostly poetry and short stories. Sometimes I write fanfiction, but not very often.

Are there any animals that you feel drawn to or a connection with?
I feel pretty drawn to wolves. They keep to themselves and are solitary except for a few people that they are extremely loyal to. They remind me a lot of myself. I also feel ridiculously drawn to whales. I am rather obsessed with them. Their voices are so beautiful and soothing. I listen to songs of the humpback whales every night before I sleep. They are incredibly beautiful, and so gigantic. I would love to be that big. They're so peaceful (except orcas, the only type of whale I don't like), and seem to possess so much wisdom. I love whales dearly.

Are there any animals you are afraid of?
Spiders. That's such an unoriginal answer, but they really creep me out. With those legs and ugh... I just don't like spiders much. I enjoy staring at them from a distance, but not being anywhere close to them. I also HATE fish. I like sea mammals, but I hatehate fish. They are so slimy and disgusting and I have nightmares so often about my bed being full of fish. They gross me out to the extreme, and I am constantly afraid of coming into contact with them.

Why would you like to be an animagus?
I want to be able to experience life from a completely new and different perspective. I like to see things from all points of view, and I have never been able to see the world through any eyes but human eyes. I want to do something different, something exciting.
Also, I'd like to be able to take a form where no one would recognize me. It would be so nice to be able to sit on the sidelines and observe things without being bothered by anyone. Everyone would act like themselves, instead of putting on airs for me. I'd like to watch people when they don't know I'm watching, but not in a perverted way. Just in a way where I can glean different ideas about their personality.

Best Trait: I'm funny. You may role your eyes at this, but I promise that I would go out of my way to make ANYONE laugh. I like all types of humor, be it dry, slapstick, ssarcasm, situational, and even toilet humor.
Worst Trait: I am a moody bitch sometimes. For real. It's basically because I'm a bit chemically imbalanced, but sometimes I get to the point that if I don't restrain myself, I could seriously punch someone in their face.

What are your favorite hobbies and extracurricular activities? I'm addicted to Reality Tv. It's quite disgusting really. I also adore movies and music (who doesn't.) I'm also very fond of colouring and I've just taught myself to knit. Oh I also dabble a bit in graphics and journal coding.
Are there any animals that you feel drawn to or a connection with? I particularly like giraffes. Partially because they're unlike any other animal in the animal kingdom in my eyes, and partially because my two year old niece has this stuffed giraffe named Howie that we play with a lot.
I feel very drawn to bears though. There is just something about their thick fur and great stature that just makes me say, I want to be like that. I personally don't get the fur thing, but I think it has something to do with what it feels like to run your hands through a bear's coat. I also admire their strength and loyalty.
Are there any animals you are afraid of? Honestly, spiders. I don't even know why. Logically I can look at a spider and think This thing is like 800 times smaller than me. I think that the fact they are so small and they can still kill you that gets me.
Why would you like to be an animagus? In some ways, I see it as a sort of an escape from the human version of reality. It takes you back to the basics, a less complicated life. And just imagine what kind of things you can learn about a certain animal, if you are one?

<b>House:</b> Gryffindor <b>Best Trait:</b> strength -- that is physically, emotionally and mentally. There is a quote from the movie Dragonheart that I love so much. It's "A knight is sworn to valor. His heart knows only virtue. His blade defends the helpless. His might upholds the weak. His word speaks only truth. His wrath undoes the wicked." If I sound arrogant and rash, please forgive me, I do not intend to sound that way. The strength that I possess is not for myself but for others. I love my family. I love my friends and I genuinely care about everyone around me. (just don't push my buttons) <b>Worst Trait:</b> self-lessness -- I think about others to an extent where I sometimes forget my own needs and responsibilities. It's a flaw of mine because I think about others more than I do myself to an extent where there are greater consequences to pay on MY part. I won't even tell him that I have work. I'll just be there. I'm the firstborn in my family. My youngest sister and I are 13 years apart. My mother's not as young as she used to be. I want to help her as much as I can. I look after her despite the fact I have my own homework and responsibilities to fulfill. Humans, as smart as they are, are animals too. We're just capable of thinking and focusing our emotions towards our actions. I believe animals have feelings and instincts as well, but they're not afraid to do what comes naturally to them. Since humans have higher intellect, we're more a danger to them and to each other because there are serious consequences to our actions. With animals, it's more natural. It's for balance. It's like in Lion King. Lions will eat the antelope, but when a Lion dies, their body decay is a great natural fertilizer for the grass which antelope eat. For humans, we multiply. We begin to take over habitats; therefore forcing animals out of their natural homes; therefore forcing some species into extinction. <b>Why would you like to be an animagus?</b> -- it fascinates me with the theory that animals can communicate within its own species. You can train a dog to understand people or sounds at least. If a dog hears,"sit" and he/she understands, he/she can do that action. And some animals, using their own instincts and intuitions can just tell a person. They get a vibe. That amazes me. Like most people, I have moments of joy and moments of sorrow, moments of exceptional strength and horrible weakness, but I kind of always manage to balance myself out. I level things out, to make everything ok for myself, and then i do my best to do the same for those around me. More and more I'm realizing what a good trait that is to have <strong>Worst Trait:</strong> Jealousy will always be my worst trait. I am a jealous person, jealous of everyone. Everyone I know has something I want and I will always envy them that. It's gotten in the way of potentially great friendships before. I wish I could change that. <strong>What would you want your animal form to be most capable of?</strong> I think stealth. I've always thought it was very important to be able to fly under the radar, so to speak. Just to be able to do the things necesary without drawing too much attention to yourself, so you stay out of danger. Water is great, air is great, but I feel connection with earth, and not just because I'm standing on it :) I think it has something to do with being grounded, about being supportive, about being connected to all those around me. I <i>enjoy</i> the earth, the way hills roll, the way gross grows, the way shadows from in valleys and sun bleaches mountaintops. I don't know how to express it thats just definitely where my heart lies. <strong>Warm or cool?</strong> <i>warm</i> is ok... hot? not so much. I think overall, cool. I prefer the clean crispness of the air when the leaves start to change colors. I love snow and ice, I love the slight stinging when your cheeks get cold when your outside in winter. I like to be able to bundle up against the cold, but I enjoy feeling that it's colt outside of my layers of clothing. <strong>Morning or evening?</strong> Evening. There are a lot of things about evening/night that are attractive to me. I love it in the summer when the shadows get long and everything is cast in that golden glow of late afternoon and the temperature starts to drop. I like being able to watch the sun disappearing and the stars coming out, or the lights of a city skyline. I like the thought of being able to just disappear at night, being able to be yourself. If you're driving at night you can sing really loudly and not have to worry that people will see you. Although oddly enough... I am scared of the dark. Evening though, that's where it's at. <strong>Do you like to have people around you or are you more of a loner?</strong> I think everyone is a bit of both. I don't need a large group of people all the time, although it is nice to vanish in the crowd sometimes. Mostly I would rather be with a small group of people who are really important to me, who can support me and who I can offer my support to. And I need my solitude every once in a while, like most of us do. South African Caracal -- Although closely related to the Lynx, the caracal is smaller in stature and has a much longer tail. Caracal is a Turkish word meaning "black eared". <strong>What are your favorite hobbies and extracurricular activities?</strong> The biggest influence in my life is music. I love to listen to it, I love to sing, I love to play my bass, I LOVE going to concerts. It really is ever present in my life. I also really love to read, and write. I am an english major, albeit a bad one, but I spend a lot of time buried in books or with a pen in my hand. I like to be outdoors, I like the woods, I like to hike. I like archery. I like to watch the skyline light up from across the river. I like to pretend I'm creative by making icons and graphics and sometimes actually drawing or painting. And mostly, I love photography. I can spend hours just wandering around with my camera in my hand. I feel at home in a dark room, i love the smell of developing chemicals. I love black and white. <strong>Are there any animals that you feel drawn to or a connection with?</strong> Hm... I don't really know, I don't think so? Not any <i>particular</i> animal. Although I'd have to say I am inclined towards the mammals, and the earth dwelling mammals, mind, not cetacea and pinnipeds. I think I'm just kind of drawn to that warm nurturing that is associated with mammals, and I like the idea of being connected with the earth. I've always kind of like the "african" animals, like lions and giraffes and zebra, but I don't think of myself as any of those. <strong>Are there any animals you are afraid of?</strong> I can't say that there are. I mean if a rabid bear was chasing me I'd certainly be afraid, but on a base level... not really. I just kind of adjust to animals that I'm around and get used to their nature. I get a bit jumpy around horses sometimes though, even though I love them, just because I've seen what those legs can do. But no, I'm not scared of like snakes or, i dot know, other animals that people are typically afraid of. <strong>Why would you like to be an animagus?</strong> I think being an animagus is a way to express and personify another part of yourself, another half, perhaps a better or worse half. Becoming something else could be used as an escape, or an exploration of who you truly are inside, and i think that is just really fascinating and exciting.

Also, I love looking at the stars and just lying on the ground and dream, wondering what will happen, thinking of what could be. It's a calming and peaceful time for me. <b>Do you like to have people around you or are you more of a loner?</b> During the day, I like to have people around me, but just one or two of my close friends. I believe in quality over quantity. My friends just make me happy, and I can talk to them about anything and do just about anything with them. At night, I prefer to be alone and left to my thoughts. <b>Are there any animals that you feel drawn to or a connection with?</b> I would like to say yes, but not really. I was born in the Year of the Hare (Rabbit) in the Chinese Zodiac, but I dislike rabbits and anything that resembles a rabbit like a hamster. Pets are not my favorite things, not because I don't like animals, but because I'm afraid they'll die on me, and that creeps me out. <b>Are there any animals you are afraid of?</b> I think I'm afraid of anything small. Small animals scare me, like merkats or mice or anything rodent-y. They creep me out, and I run. Tigers, lions, and bears don't. Big animals I can deal with. It's the small ones I hate with a passion. I also hate anything rabid. <b>Why would you like to be an animagus?</b> I would like to be an animagus because it takes a great level of skill to be one. It takes dedication and skill to be able to master something so complex. I just want to prove to myself that I have what it takes to be an animagus. Outside of the skill level, I think it would be interesting to become an animal. I'd like to experience the world from a semi-different perspective and do things I can't do because I'm human. After all, humans aren't the best creatures in the world.

Best Trait: I'm easy going. It takes quite a lot to get me angry and I can think my way out of a problem rather than getting angry about it.
Worst Trait: I'm easy going. I think it's both my best and worst trait because sometimes I think I'm too easy going. There are situations that I should probably confront a lot sooner than I actually do, but because I'm so easy going I can sit back and let them develop for too long.
What would you want your animal form to be most capable of? Fighting when it has to. I wouldn't want to be something that wouldn't be able to defend itself successfully if it had to.
Choose one of the following -- Air, Water, Earth Air. I think my main reason for picking this is because I'm a Gemini, which is an air sign and I just felt drawn to it. There really is no other reason.
Warm or cool? Cool. I don't like to be too warm because it makes me uncomfortable. Plus I live in the UK so I'm used to the cold!

Are there any animals you are afraid of? Spiders I guess. Not little tiny ones, they're okay, but big spiders I don't like. They just give me the creeps, the way they move so fast and the length of their legs. They just look creepy.
Why would you like to be an animagus? I think it would be useful to be able to turn into an animal if you were in a tight spot. Granted being an animal probably wouldn't help much in a magical battle, but if it was physical it could be an advantage. Plus an animal can often get into places that a human can't without attracting suspicion so it would be useful for spying/getting information secretly.

Best Trait: I'd have to go with my intelligence. It seems boastful to do so, but you asked. haha. I think that I'm a very smart person (although I am quite capable of doing dense things) and for years, I've always been "the smart one." I have always been one that has been really excited about school (at least until recently) and I always enjoyed doing the homework and was pretty good at picking things up quickly.
Worst Trait: I'd have to say my codependency/jealousy. I get easily attached to my friends and family and I do not like anyone to interfere with my time with them. I get jealous easily when they do. And I'm almost lost without my best friend, she's absolutely my savior. I like to travel in packs.
What would you want your animal form to be most capable of? I want an animal form that would be useful.. and clever. I love clever animals and I think it would go well with intelligence being my best quality.
Choose one of the following -- Air, Water, Earth Earth definitely. Being that I'm a Virgo, I believe it's one of my basic elements. Earth is very grounded and logical. I think that I would definitely have to pick that.
Warm or cool? Cool. I cannot stand to be hot. I am always more willing to be cool because you can always put on more layers of cold, but being hot just zaps the energy right out of you.
Morning or evening? Evening. Definitely nocturnal. I'm forever off my correct sleeping schedule and would much rather spend the night talking with friends than getting up early. Though I usually have to compromise for school.
Do you like to have people around you or are you more of a loner? I think I said this before, but I do like to travel in groups..and I love to be in groups, like I like to have two or three people around me.

What are your favorite hobbies and extracurricular activities? I love reading and being on the computer. I love to listen to music. I like having background noise, it's comforting to me. I love playing games, board games, card games, word games, everything. I love shopping, of course. And I love to go bowling with my family, they always make it fun.
Are there any animals that you feel drawn to or a connection with? Of course, I adore dogs. I've always loved them and my current puppy is the love of my life right now, lol. I also have always loved Raccoons for some reason. I know they're like super evil, but they're really clever and they're nocturnal and they're just.. awesome. Plus I have to say.. I'm distracted by sparkly things just like them. haha.
Are there any animals you are afraid of? Spiders, snakes, bees.. you know the sort. I am absolutely petrified of spiders. They just.. freeze me in my tracks. :/
Why would you like to be an animagus? I think that it's admirable how much time it takes to become an animagus. I think that it's a very useful ability, of course. I just think that it's something that, if in the wizarding world, I would strive to work hard and become. And.. hello, it's cool!

Best Trait: Outspoken. I'm not one to sit around and conform to what everyone else thinks. I think it's why I wanted to be a Lawyer, I want my voice to be heard and be taken seriously especially when it comes to serious issues. I hate to be shadowed and ignored. ESPECIALLY when I know people could benefit from my opinions. This gets me into a hell of trouble, but I think being outspoken and standing up for what I believe in makes me an honest person.
Worst Trait: Jealousy. I get extremely jealous and possessive of everything in my life. I let it take the best of me at times. I'm not an easy person to share with, and I hate when I'm toped at something. I'm not proud of this...it's a horrible trait to posses. But I can never get around. In time I've learned to control it. But it's not something I can deal with easily or hide very well in difficult times.
What would you want your animal form to be most capable of?: Independent Survival. I want to be able to make it on my own and do it well. I want to be able to rely on me, myself, and I at all times. I want to make sure I don't need help with EVERYTHING. Being smart, witty and using quick thinking to get the job done and get it done well.

Warm or cool? : Cool, I would rather be freezing cold than burning up. You can always add more insulation...but you can only take off so much to stay cool.
Morning or evening? Night. I work best at night, when everyone else is sleeping...I get the head start and never waste time. I don't like being out early and I love sleeping in late.
Do you like to have people around you or are you more of a loner?: Depends. I like being alone...a lot...but when in the company of 1 or 2 very close friends I can't argue. However I constantly find distancing myself from large groups as they tend to make me nervous and fidgety.

What are your favorite hobbies and extracurricular activities?: I LOVE reading. Love love love it. I love learning and getting cought up in a whole new world. I love working on the computer, I love talking on the phone and I love shopping, tho not always venturing out to do it.
Are there any animals that you feel drawn to or a connection with?: Cats. Omg cats. I have 3 cats living indoors, and thanks to mothering strays, I have like 14 in my backyard. They are such clean, graceful, and most of all independent animals. They have the capacity to love and yet show a true sense of power in being able to fend for themselves and do their own bidding. They are so intelligent. I constantly find myself to this day amazed by the feline species. In the wild, panthers and leopards never cease to amaze me. They are so independent....yet show true care and nurture in mothering. I love how not all cats work solo. Lions work best in groups, and show that they aren’t all loners in the feline species.
Are there any animals you are afraid of?: Not so much fear, but I tend to be very standoff-ish by dogs and reptiles. Dogs because as a child I was attacked by a rather LARGE pit-bull, and reptiles because...well...they are so different and often leave me with so many questions. I however am not afraid of snakes. I owned one previously and love them, but lizards and frogs..omg don't go there.
Why would you like to be an animagus?: I have always felt a strong connection the animal world. We are...after all animals too. I love finding out how all animals operate. I love being able to connect with these creatures who often posses more positive qualities than many people I know. Not only that, but to be given the opportunity to prove my studies and prove I have got the patience and willing to work hard to achieve my goal builds up confidence to perform greater things.

Best Trait: Best.. If I have to narrow it down to just one, I would say my natural leading ability. I've been put in many positions of leadership and I always succeed. I like to be in control and I like leading to a positive result. I like setting the example and taking on the responsibility.

Worst Trait: My temper. I have a hot, hot temper and I'm extremely moody at times. I tend to snap at people when I get frustrated or angry and I take it out on the wrong people.
What would you want your animal form to be most capable of? Blending in. Being part of the surroundings so I can observe (and eavesdrop if needed!) things and people. I wouldn't want something so outlandish that I wouldn't be of use to anyone. I want an animal that is a little more on the common side, but useful.

What are your favorite hobbies and extracurricular activities? Firstly, music. I love music. I've been playing it for a long time. I love to listen, to sing, to critique and discover new and old favorites. I also love making graphics and (lighlty) coding HTML. I think it's creating something really original that makes it so fun. I love to shop (especially for other people) and give gifts. I love to surf the web and poke around to see what neat things I can find. I love to clean (seriously) -- I'm a very neat person. I enjoy just spending time with friends, whether it being watching movies, having crazy chats online, or goofy phone conversations (when the mood strikes).

Are there any animals that you feel drawn to or a connection with? I love dogs and lions. Growing up I always had a dog. My favorite pets have been dogs and I just love them to death. Their loyalty is amazing, they seem to really feel you. They know when you're upset. They'll play, they'll cuddle. They'll just lay with you while you read. They're true companions. I also love lions. I collect anything and everything that I can get my hands on that has to do with them. They're beautiful, forceful animals (both the male and female).

Are there any animals you are afraid of? I'm afraid of pretty much any rodent. Or snakes, lizards. I don't much like fish, either. I think I'm just more of a non-rodent mammal person, lol. I don't like bugs.

Why would you like to be an animagus? For one, I think it is an amazing achievement, knowing what we know about all that would go into learning to become an animagus. I think it's such a usefull skill and such a high standard of magic. Secondly, I adore animals. And I'd love to get closer to them if I could. What better way to do it than to become one?

Best Trait:
I have a natural tendency to do my best, whether it be in school, finding Christmas presents for friends or planning an outing. I rarely, if ever, will present something of poor quality, as I wouldn't want it to reflect on me. I am a very optimistic person who would like nothing less than to make a positive mark on the world.
Worst Trait:
I'm an introverted person, which can sometimes lead others to think I'm also very distant. Sometimes I shut people out and I can be pretty blunt, so I can see why some would think I'm not a nice person. But I'll never be a people pleaser, I strongly believe honesty is the best policy, even if it is somewhat brutal.
What would you want your animal form to be most capable of?
I would love it to live in a small pack/herd/business/etc. of animals and have the ability to travel quickly. Flying or running or swimming fast would be excellent. Although, I'm a terrible swimmer, so I can't see myself as an animal that swims.

Certainly not water, as explained above. I suppose I'll have to pick earth. I would love to fly, but earth is where everything's happening. Trees, plants, desert, mountains--I crave natural beauty!

I love warm colors and cool temperatures, so this is a hard question. Cool sounds like the best answer. I hate the heat and humidity here in Texas, so anything cool is heaven to me. That and I'm more of a cool person, who doesn't open up to just anyone and is pretty mellow.
Morning or evening?
Evening most definitely. For one thing, I never see mornings, since I refuse to leave the house early unless forced to for school. I'm extremely attracted to the lights and attractions of night life, so evening is a clear choice.
Do you like to have people around you or are you more of a loner?
I'm more of a loner, but I love going out with my best friends. I'd rather be by myself (or with family) when I'm at home, though. I guess I just see it as a place to relax and not entertain others. Plus there's that feeling of sadness when your friends have to leave you all alone again. So I'm a loner at home, love people everywhere else.

Web design, houseplants, gardening, shopping, driving, going out, traveling are my favorite hobbies. I also love going to theatre productions, my latest venture having been Wicked when it toured in Houston. As for after school activities, I really like clubs, so I'm in German Club, French Club, the Environmental Conservation Club and Key Club. (=

I've always had a thing for birds, I'm pretty sure I was a bird in a past life. That and one of the women who died for the Women's Right Movement. Right, animals. Maybe cats, I'm very much a cat person, though I'm sure I'm allergic to them. But I'm a clean freak and somewhat of a loner, which are definitely cat qualities.
Are there any animals you are afraid of?
Oh, dogs. I never liked dogs ever since my sister (who moved out) decided it'd be fun to adopt five of them and bring them over to visit us. Untrained, energetic animals aren't my cup of tea. I'm also afraid of insects. They're so small and not knowing where they are freaks me out...
Why would you like to be an animagus?
To explore. It's so hard to travel when you're a person considering the expenses, danger, lack of time, usw. which I think can be almost completely avoided if I was an animal for a while. Sometimes what I want more than anything is to be somewhere else, to take in a completely different culture and surrounding, just temporarily.

Red-Tailed Hawk -- A certain recording of the cry of the Red-tailed Hawk is probably one the most often heard cinematic sound cliché. This high fierce, scream is often featured in the background of adventure movies to give a sense of wilderness to the scene.
