Title & Blurb: Rock On: my ode to rock 'n' roll. At first I was considering creating a fanmix for how there's music that fits for everyone, that no matter what you like, what you're feeling, where you are in life, there's music to accompany it, music can fit you. But then it started to get unwieldy, and I wasn't sure I was doing that kind of mix any justice, so I decided to focus on what music meant to me.
Even that was a struggle, because I like so many different kinds! But in searching for various songs, I found myself gravitating more and more to rock, and I know this is probably different for everyone, but when I think of music, I think of rock. It's the first genre that stood out to me as a kid, and I go through phases when I like certain things at different points in my life but I always come back to rock. There's nothing that compares to feeling the bass pulse thrumming beneath my veins. Music, for me, is expression and rebellion, and rock embodies that near perfectly.
This fanmix is an ode to that -- a quick history and appreciation for all things rock, capped off with a rock cover of Hallelujah, because while "the secret chord" is different for everyone, everyone has one.
