That would be a great way to change things! The Daily Prophet would probably have to tell the truth earlier on, lessening the Ministry's grasp on things during the OotP year. On the other hand, there are unintended consequences here too: how would the Quibbler get any credit as a credible opposition paper? It would probably keep its "loony" reputation instead of being the one paper willing to tell the truth!
