Thing you're changing: Hermione trapping Rita Skeeter at the end of GoF How do you think this would have affected the outcome of the books? Kind of a weird one, I know, but this occurred to me when I reread the book this summer. I could see this going one of several ways. If she had just escaped, she would have had an absolute field day with everything that she had heard in the hospital wing that night, and it seriously could have ruined everything. But what if Hermione had captured Rita, but then taken her to Dumbledore instead? Maybe they could have forced her to help the Order? I so want to read a story with a premise like this!
