Hi Everyone! I hope you're all having a wonderful October. It was really fun seeing all the entries for your secret head casts. Now is everyone's chance to get some insight into each other's minds! Below are the casts playing around in people's heads as they read the Harry Potter books. Choose you three favorites and fill out the text box below for an easy two points!

Person in my head:Andrew Garfield
Description: The elder of the two next-gen Potter boys, I think Andrew Garfield would be able to pull off the more cocky and confident elder brother pretty well. Plus, since his appearance in Kes as Billy - he'd be awesome with the owls.

Character: Rose Weasley
Person in my head:Rachel Hurd-Wood
Description: She's a red head, plus from her roles as Laura in Perfume and Wendy in Peter Pan, I think she would play a brilliant innocent girl with the fire of a Gryffindor.

Character: Scorpius Malfoy
Person in my head:Boyd Holbrook
Description:Boyd Holbrook is a model, so like the rest of the Malfoy family, I'm sure he will enjoy posing with a pimp cane. I think the similarites between Tom Felton and Boyd are extraordinary, they really must be related somehow...

Character: Hugo Weasley
Person in my head:Caleb Landry Jones
Description:Description: Another Weasley means another red head! Caleb Jones shall make an excellent Weasley, as we know from his role in The Last Exorcism, he is used to a bit of family drama!

Character: Lily Luna Potter
Person in my head:Karen Gillan
Description: What better red head than Karen Gillan to play the fiery and adventurous Gryffindor. Her role as Amy Pond in Doctor Who shows that she is a bold and brave, just like Lily and her parents.

Character: Sirius Black
Person in my head:Daniel Day-Lewis
Description: Daniel Day-Lewis has all the tall, dark and handsome features I picture when I think of Sirius, especially with his long hair. He could definitely pull off the once handsome, now unkempt Sirius we meet in PoA. It's not just about his physical appearance, though. Daniel Day-Lewis, in my mind, shares all the complexities and darkness that Sirius is known for in the books.

Character: James Potter
Person in my head:Colin Firth
Description:Why wasn't Colin Firth in the Harry Potter films in the first place may I ask?!? Dye his hair dark and I think he looks stunningly like James, at least compared to the version of him in my mind. He's got a charming and boyish, yet trustworthy aura about him much like James. He'd make a great father to Harry and a loyal friend to Daniel Day-Lewis's Sirius!

Character: Lily Potter
Person in my head:Laura Linney
Description:Laura Linney looks so much like Lily in my head. It's the way she carries herself and projects confidence in each and every one of her roles. I see Laura Linney and Colin Firth as James fitting effortlessly into their characters as husband and wife, as well as the parents of Harry, every time I open one of the books. Look at her smile! That's Lily right there.

Character: Ginny Weasley
Person in my head:Rachel Hurd-Wood
Description:I have always wanted to recast Ginny in the films, and I cannot think of a better suited actress to play her than Rachel Hurd-Wood! I think she'd be able to work the chemistry between Ginny and Harry much more successfully than Bonnie Wright. I probably see her as Ginny when I read because of her role in Peter Pan, in which she was surrounded by boys just like Ginny is as a member of the Weasley family. Since she seems tom-boyish and outspoken she'd make a wonderful, powerful Ginny.

Character:Gilderoy Lockhart
Person in my head:Ewan McGregor
Description:I can easily see Ewan McGregor bringing out his flamboyant, overly confident side as Gilderoy Lockhart when I read the books. He's got a flashy smile and can work that as Gilderoy, who makes women melt just by grinning. It's not just his looks but his entire persona that befits Gilderoy in my mind. They work hand-in-hand to make him the perfect Lockhart!

Character:Ginny Weasley
Person in my head:Hayley Williams
Description: I always picture Ginny looking like Hayley. Hayley is just so fiery and spunky and that's how I always picture Ginny to be. I mean growing up with 6 brothers she'd have to be spunky. And since Hayley is in a band with all guys she's pretty spunky.

Character: Albus Dumbledore
Person in my head:Ian McKellen
Description: I always pictured the man who played Gandalf as playing Dumbledore. When I first saw Lord of the Rings I was like "Gandalf is so Dumbledore looking!"

Character: Viktor Krum
Person in my head:Joe Flacco
Description:When I first saw him playing football one day when my mom was watching it I was like "That's Viktor Krum!" Just the way JK Rowling described Viktor and the way the cover looks for Goblet of Fire I pictured Viktor looking dark and brooding and for some reason Joe Flacco makes me think of dark and brooding.

Character: Remus Lupin
Person in my head:Matthew Davis
Description:In the book I pictured Lupin to be this hot professor that the girls would crush on. And Matthew Davis just has Lupin written all over him! I pictured him to be just like Matthew Davis with the swoon factor (even though he's a werewolf). But that might just be because I had a crush on Lupin in the third book.

Character: Fleur Delacour
Person in my head:Blake Lively
Description: I pictured Fleur looking more beautiful than a normal human. I guess I really pictured Blake Lively because in Gossip Girl she's the beautiful girl all the girls want to be and all the guys want. Which is exactly how Fleur is!

Character: Delores Umbridge
Person in my head:Kathy Bates
Description:If you've ever seen the movie Misery, Kathy is a pretty good blend of sickeningly sweet and batshit insane. Just like Umbridge.

Character: Severus Snape
Person in my head:James Spader
Description: I love Alan Rickman but if you want dark and domineering James Spader is pretty much the be all, end all. If you've seen Secretary or Shadow of Evil or True Colors or....well pretty much anything with him in it, you know what I mean.

Character: Ginny Weasley
Person in my head:Karen Gillan
Description: Sexy, adventurous redhead. Enough said. Go watch Doctor Who. Karen just has so much energy, she's not a seductress but she definitely is aware of her own sexuality like Ginny is.

Character: Remus Lupin
Person in my head:David Tennant
Description: Lupin is a caring, protective person, like the Doctor (who Tennant plays wonderfully), but in addition Tennant's Doctor has a bit of a dark side. He's not unforgiving, but he is pretty harsh sometimes. I see Lupin like this when it comes to those who threatens the people he is trying to protect.

Character: Narcissa Malfoy
Person in my head:Julie Dawn Cole
Description:She's a lot more put together than the actress who play Narcissa now, and the image of her singing "I Want it Now" in Willy Wonka as a child is just. so. fitting.

Character: Kingsley Shacklebolt
Person in my head:Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje
Description: In my head Kingsley is younger and has more of a commanding presence than they went for in the movies. AAA is very magnetic and he has the voice to carry it off.

Character: Sirius Black
Person in my head:Robert Sheehan
Description: Robert has this whole beautiful arrogant larrikin thing going on. All the popular choices for Sirius seem to lack either the cheekiness or the attractiveness for me.

Character: Remus Lupin
Person in my head:Andrew Garfield
Description: This is pretty heavily influence by Shoebox Project, but Andrew Garfield just projects this vulnerability that I think is perfect for Lupin. (Although I can also see him as Teddy Lupin!)

Character: James Potter
Person in my head:Aaron Johnson
Description: LOOK AT THAT PICTURE. How does that NOT scream James? He's got the arrogance and casual cool to pull it off, as well as the ability to pull off an unexpected change of heart.

Character: Lily Evans Potter
Person in my head:Karen Gillan
Description: She's feisty and smart and incredibly beautiful. Perfect Lily.

Entry 6
Character: Draco Malfoy
Person in my head: Person in my head:Boyd Holbrook
Description: ~~Look, it was just easier to mack on Draco when he wasn't being played by an underaged actor in my head, okay?~~ There are surprisingly very few blond actors/models as far as I could tell, even fewer who, to me, would have fit Draco's description of being pointy and somewhat aristocratic. Boyd Holbrook fits, has always fit, and even though Felton's all grown up now I just can't shake Boyd!Draco in my head every time I read the books.

Character: Pansy Parkinson
Person in my head:Person in my head: Christina Ricci
Description: Christina Ricci as Pansy Parkinson has always been my first casting. Even now when I can see where the Gemma Arterton casting could come from, I think Ricci still fits better. Pansy has never been described as anyone of great beauty. She's frilly, she's got a pug nose, etc etc. Ricci, similarly, isn't someone who is conventionally attractive. But she's got an upturned nose and a big personality in her tiny frame. The short black bob she favors also reminds me very strongly of Pansy (though I could never remember if that had ever been stated in canon, it is what Genevieve Gaunt looked like in PoA).

Character: Theodore Nott
Person in my head: Cillian Murphy
Description: Yes, I know, I'm casting a little too old here. But it's always been difficult to imagine Theodore Nott as someone who looks as young as he is in the books. When JKR describes him she talks of him as an equal to Draco, maybe even more clever than him. He is thin, lanky, weedy, etc. He's got dark hair, which I've always imagined to be somewhat curly. I get a vibe of lone wolf from him, and I think this is a character that Cillian Murphy pulls off pretty well. Nobody broods quite like Cillian.

Character: Astoria Greengrass
Person in my head:Leighton Meester
Description: When I heard about Draco having married some other girl besides Pansy Parkinson, I tried at once to figure out what kind of girl he'd marry. I didn't like having Astoria portrayed as someone who was on either end of the spectrum--I didn't want her to be this cold-blooded witch whose marriage to Draco was arranged, and I didn't want her to be this completely nice innocent either. To an extent, I think I was still thinking of Pansy Lite, but I've also never liked having Slytherins apologize for who they were. Gossip Girl was also either on its first or second season at this time, and I think I saw Blair Waldorf as a perfect UES version of Astoria Greengrass. She's well-mannered, headstrong, and so very deliciously devious.

Character: Daphne Greengrass
Person in my head:Minka Kelly
Description: The best part of casting Leighton Meester as Astoria Greengrass is that she comes with an insta!sis. I've never seen the Roommate, but these two girls look a LOT alike! They can definitely pass for sisters and I like the idea that Daphne's this sweeter girl who gets swept up by romances and Astoria's somewhat the more level-headed of the two.

Description: This was definitely a "once seen, can't unsee!!" type of thing for me. He looks just like I pictured in the "Snape's Worst Memory" chapter. Young, hot, kind of cocky, but he's just adorable underneath it all.

Character: Lily (Evans) Potter
Person in my head:Karen Gillan
Description: The hair, the eyes, the smile, she's just...perfect. Before I knew who she was, the Lily in my head was this fuzzy image. There was no clear picture. And now it's her.

Character: Sirius Black
Person in my head:James Sturgess
Description: He's fantastic looking, obviously. But he has this playfulness to him and it's so perfect for how I picture Sirius.

Character: Remus Lupin
Person in my head:Jamie Bell
Description: He looks like he could pull off the whole "I have some issues and I'm just grateful that I have wonderful friends" look.

Character: Narcissa Malfoy
Person in my head:Naomi Watts
Description: Actually, my friend mentioned this when the pictures of Helen as Narcissa first came out. Naomi looks so fragile looking and has this classic classiness about her.

Character: Luna Lovegood
Person in my head: Zooey Deschanel
Description: She's just so quirky and awkward and floaty and lovely and LUNA! Her character on her show The New Girl is like...Luna on crack.

Character: Dumbledore
Person in my head:Gregory Peck
Description: I really don't know how to explain this one too well. It's mostly just a feeling. They're both wise, caring, and brave men.

Character: Minerva McGonnogall
Person in my head:Supernanny Jo Frost
Description: Strict but only because she cares and wants the best for the little ones! And they both can be fun on those rare occasions.

Character: Ginny Weasley
Person in my head:Jodi Sweetin
Description: Gorgeous and fun and feisty and grown up from the cute little girl we first saw her as!

Character: James Potter
Person in my head:John Stamos
Description: Okay, I'm a Full House nerd. John Stamos is perfect for James though because he's dark and handsome and has an air of mystery about him but you can he can still act a fool. (Look up his Guide to Snuggling, if you haven't seen it haha)

Character: Remus Lupin
Person in my head:Arthur Darvill
Description: This is a relatively new association for me, but whenever I think about Remus Lupin, I think about Rory from Doctor Who. They're both very unassuming and very brave.

Character:Narcissa Malfoy
Person in my head:Zoe Tapper
Description: Zoe's one of my favorite actresses and I can see her being able to take on the ruthless and proud, but nurturing and family-oriented parts of Narcissa's personality.

Character: Gilderoy Lockhart
Person in my head:Mark Gatiss
Description:This is entirely based on his performance on Doctor Who as Lazarus. He has the right kind of flair for Gilderoy Lockhart. He'd be hilarious and also a little terrifying, which would be perfect.

Character: Nymphadora Tonks
Person in my head:Billie Piper
Description: Okay... I'll admit that I'm not sure why I make this association as I read. I think it's that Billie's Rose Tyler on Doctor Who was playful and fun, but also strong, adaptable, and ready for a fight.

Character: Sirius Black
Person in my head:Rafe Spall
Description: After seeing Rafe in a few things, I started picturing him as a handsome, slightly arrogant, but utterly charming Sirius.

Entry 10
Character: Minerva McGonagall
Person in my head:Meryl Streep
Description: I think that Meryl Streep would work well for Professor McGonagall, because she can look both intimidating, and be very supportive and understanding.

Character: Ginny Weasley
Person in my head:Emma Stone
Description: Emma has the ability to play serious, but deliver lines, which I thought would be a great combination for someone who has to trade barbs with ALL her older brothers, and grow up quite a lot between the first book and the last.

Character: Molly Weasley
Person in my head:Catherine Tate
Description:Molly Weasley has to be sarcastic and strong, and willing to do anything for her children. I feel like Catherine Tate has the voice to be funny one scene and intensely protective of her children the next.

Character: Luna Lovegood
Person in my head:Elle Fanning
Description: Elle is so slight, that she has the wispy quality of Luna, and the soft spoken voice that is necessary to portray a girl who is serious about some possibly silly convictions.

Character: Professor Trelawney
Person in my head:Bette Midler
Description: Bette Midler is just so wonderfully over the top with her acting, that I can easily see Hermione rolling her eyes at the woman, and everyone else in the class thinking the woman is a complete nutter.

Description: Seeing Pride and Prejudice proved to me he could perfectly embody the mood of Severus Snape, not to mention the fact that he looks the part quite well.

Character: Kingsley Shacklebolt
Person in my head: Chiwetel Ejiofor
Description: There is just something about him that reminded me so much of the description of Kingsley in the book. Strong, subtle and yet somewhat humorous.

Character: Peter Pettigrew
Person in my head: Mackenzie Crook
Description: If anybody can pull off the slimy character, it's him! He proved it in both The Office and Pirates and because of that, he is my perfect Peter.

Character: Albus Dumbledore
Person in my head:Ian McKellen
Description: Seeing as he was asked to play this role, it's no surprise that anyone could think he would fit it perfectly. I still wish this would have happened in the movies, but alas, I will have to resort to doing no more than imagining him while reading.

Character: Arthur Weasley
Person in my head: Damian Lewis
Description: He just IS my Arthur in every shape and form. He looks the part, and I've seen Damian act in enough things to know he could pull off the paternal, enthusiastic character that is Arthur.

Character: Xenophilius Lovegood
Person in my head:Lee Pace
Description: This guy just seems to fit him so well for me. (though, I suppose it wouldn't help to age him a few years.) Xenophilius seems so quirky, and Lee captures that so well. And, well, nerdy! What more do you need?

Character: Pansy Parkinson
Person in my head:Emma Stone(blonde)
Description: Even though Emma plays such a good average girl, as a blonde I can see her doing exactly what she does in the picture. Sticking her head up, and just being that awesome. It just works for me.

Character: Albus Dumbledore
Person in my head:Morgan Freeman
Description: Morgan Freeman IS the Black Dumbledore. There's just no way around it. He's such a good wise man. It's to the point of ridiculousness how well he plays those roles. And, well, BLACK DUMBLEDORE. How is that NOT epic? I rest my case.

Character: Fred and/or George Weasley
Person in my head:Jesse Tyler Ferguson
Description: He's just so damn funny. Additionally, he's a ginger. I think the spiderman outfit fiasco from Modern Family portrays this perfectly. Just beautifully quirky and hilarious. If I had a GIF of him doing "Step-Ball-Change, Step-Ball-Change, Sugar, Sugar, Step-Ball-Change" from Ellen, that would 100% be what I would show you.

Character: Neville Longbottom
Person in my head:Charlie McDermott
Description: Cute, lovable, but maybe just a tad off. This is totally Neville! The hair long and shag, etc. However, he always pulls through in the end. (idk. I always think of him as Axl from the middle. Don't judge.)

Description: I think that Andrew suits the Harry Potter role perfectly - he's skinny and tall and his hair is quite messy. He also has a very hot British accent :D

Description: Jake matches James's description quite well for me. He's tall and handsome and I can see how can be a daredevil like James

Description: there's smth mysterious in this photo of Jim, i think. that's how I picture Sirius. messy haircut, a bit of facial hair, stern look

Description: I know that this is a pretty common choice but I just can't help myself but picture Lily as Karen. I see how Karen could be that bright young witch, bold and courageous, not to mention the looks

Description: She makes a perfect Rowena for me. There are lots of photos of her in medieval clothes (thanks to 'Merlin') and she looks very good, esp in the blue outfits which is Rowena's color

Description: I always imaged Pansy as someone who walked around with a bitch-face 24/7, even while sleeping. Enter Leighton.

Description: Luna is a very whimsy character, down to earth (when her head isn't in the sky) and I think Amanda can be a lot like that. Childish in a way.

Character: Ginny Weasley
Person in my head:Saoirse Ronan
Description: Red head aside, Saoirse is a very *real* girl that won't take nonsense from people and isn't afraid to get dirty, like Ginny.

Character: Draco Malfoy
Person in my head: Ed Westwick
Description: Again, hair color aside... Draco always exuded smugness to me from the beginning which Ed could do easily.

Character: Narcissa Malfoy
Person in my head: Michelle Phieffer
Description: Narcissa to me was always very well groomed, dressed to the tee and nose permenantly in the air knowing she > all.

Description: She simply looks classy and exactly the way I imagine her to look!

Description: Everyone says I look a lot like him...

Person in my head:Boris Karloff (played Frankenstein's Monster)
Description: Both fit the vaguely nonhuman bill!

Description: fits that wasted away look
