Personally I might substitute crushed walnuts for flax seeds. They're rich in fiber and omega-3 fatty acids, and they're also a good source of many other vitamins and nutrients.. and they may seem more palatable for muggles who aren't as familiar with "healthy smoothies" and may balk at sticking powder in. :)
