[identity profile] omfgerbear.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] hh_clubs

So I hope everyone's done reading the required essay I gave in this post, because it's quiz time!!

I'm sorry if it's a bit late.. haha. School is killing me, and it's the term's only been through with one week. Haha. I hate being a Stat major.

MAJOR EDIT: Hey, guys, Jack ([livejournal.com profile] xenylamine) has just pointed out that I am not allowed to post Bonus Points without prior approval. I thought I had approved it, but I apparently hadn't. So there. XD That being said, the bonus word-find is now just for fun. :( Anyway, nobody's going to be negatively affected except for my reputation... jk. I'm still offering more LolCats for bonuses, though! :3

Anyway, here's the little activity info box:

~TERM X ACTIVITY 1~
QUIZ CHALLENGE - VANISHING MAGIC
Activity Description: You must have first read Steve Vander Ark of HPLexicon's essay on Vanishing Magic and Invisibility, which you can find here. You will now have a quiz worth ten points, and the questions will be posted below.
Mechanics: Just answer the quiz I'll put in below. :) To be able to place in the top three, you'd have to get ALL the questions right. Don't worry, though: it's quite easy... if you read the article.
Points: 1st/2nd/3rd gets 50/40/20 points each, while the rest of the participants get the number of points they get right in the quiz. ^_^
EXTRA POINTS: Remember, I will be doling out an extra two points for every Transfiguration book purchased from [livejournal.com profile] hh_diagon! ^_^ These include the following: A Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration, Intermediate Transfiguration, A Guide to Advanced Transfiguration, The Invisible Book, and Theories of Transsubstantial Transfiguration. Phew! Those titles were damnedly long. XD
Schedule:Quiz answers will be accepted from today, January 11, Friday up to January 16, Wednesday at around 5:30PM Philippine Standard Time (+0800GMT). I assure you, I will strictly follow this schedule. :)

So there you have it! Any questions should be posted as a comment to this entry! ^^

The questions and bonus word-search are below the cut.

Transfiguration Club Quiz: Invisibility and Vanishing Spells

1.) Which do Fred and George Weasley's Headless Hats use: Invisibility or Vanishing?
2.) What are the origins for the Vanishing Spell's incantation?
3.) This large bird, thought to be extinct by Muggles, actually has the ability to Vanish at will.
4.) This magical creature is usually Invisible, except when the person who sees is had previously "seen death".
5.) Name three modes of transport which use Vanishing Magic. (3pts)
6.) This book, which can hardly be found in the Hogwarts Library, contains thorough discussions on Invisibility. This book can also be purchased from [livejournal.com profile] hh_diagon for an extra two points if you're a Transfiguration Club member. ;)
7.) Montague, a Hogwarts student who fell into a Vanishing Cabinet, ended up here after a few weeks.
8.) Harry Potter often wonders whether his Invisibility Cloak works on this particularly infamous animal.

And your bonus word search...

There are just five words there, and I've made it hard since it's supposed to be a bonus thing. XD I think you'll enjoy doing this. There are a lot of real non-transfiguration word there, so have fun! XD This does not award points, but I'm thinking of something in the future that can be done with this... hmm.. Suggest, anyone?

And here's a bonus Invisibility LOLCat since I just can't help it:

And for inspiration...

And there you have it! ^^

Comments are screened, naturally. XD

Gerry, I can't find aaaanything on that final question. The only thing I can think of is if you're looking for a mouse because it talks about them being harder than the snails. Can you possibly word that one a little more clearly?

Gerry, I hope you're not giving out points for the word search since it wasn't approved by Sas. It's fine if it's bonus without any points, but if it's for points, you need to make it not for points. Also, please clarify in the post that it isn't for points.
