The thing that's so delightfully creepy about this main character is that you KNOW he's mad. The way he so vehemently denies his madness, saying that his mind was clear and that he was "wise", just futher emphasizes this point. He would only be that paranoid about the audience believing him insane if he really was insane - otherwise, the thought should not have even occured to him.
I'm in a hurry, so that's all for now. xD Great story choice, btw! Tell-Tale Heart has always been what I think of as one of those delightfully creepy Halloween stories. ♥
