Name: Karina House: Slytherin Age: 16 and turning 17 on May 31!
Name Your favorite bands/artists (as many as you like): Ani Difranco, Tori Amos, Bjork, Radiohead, Marcy Playground, Barenaked Ladies, Pink Floyd, Nat King Cole, Renato Russo, The Mamonas, The Doors, Elvis Presley, Duran Duran, Metallica, Snow Patrol, Modest Mouse, Interpol, The Killers, David Bowie, Die Warzau, Shakira, The Cranberries, Garbage, Queen, Foo Fighters, Fiona Apple, Simple Things, and tons others.
What was the best concert you've ever attended? I went to Tori Amos' "Lotta Pianos" Tour in 2003 and it just blew me away. She played some of my favorite songs such as "Bells for Her" and "Don't Make Me Come to Vegas" which was perfect as I was living in Vegas at the time. My sister and I were practically crying as she came on stage. I still can't believe how amazing that night was.
Do you listen to the radio? When I'm back in the States all I listen to is the '80s station. I'm not a big fan of rap or hip hop.
Do you listen to alot of older music (70's, 80's, 90's), or mostly current music? I love old music. And by old I mean before my time. Give me anything from the 50's, 60's, or 80's and you will be my best friend.
Do you want to work in the music business or in a music-related job? (singer, music journalist, manager, teacher, etc.) : I did when I was younger, but then I realized that a 5'6 girl that weighs 176 pounds would never make it in the music industry. I still love to sing though, choir or no choir.
What is the extent of your musical education? I'm a classically trained vocalist. I was in several choirs from the second grade to freshman year.
Would you like the Music Club to focus more on commercial music, traditional music, or another type? (In other words, what kind of activities would you like to see?) I would love for us to compare and contrast our musical tastes, even possibly recommend some new music for everyone.
