Name: Rebecca House: Hufflepuff Reason you are joining Astronomy club: I adore astronomy -- so much so that I'm making it my career (First year astronomy grad student at Cornell). I love learning about it, and I love teaching it, and I love looking at the pretty pictures. Favorite star/constellation/planet/and/or nebula: My favorite star is Albiero, which looks awesome through the telescope (it's a binary star). Favorite constelaltion -- probably Scorpius, since it both looks like what it's supposed to, and has lots of pretty things in it. Favorite planet is... well, I want to be unique and say 51 Pegasi b (an extrasolar planet) because I did a paper on extrasolar planet detection for a class once, but it's probably actually Mars. My favorite nebula is the Ring Nebula (M57) in Lyra, as it's the first thing I found in a telescope by starhopping. Any subject of Astronomy you'd like to see covered?: Anything. With pretty pictures.
