Sorry for my brief absence everyone. I've been dealing with an internet disaster and have thus been cut off from all HIH stuff, to my great despair. But I'm back with your Personal Potions results!

It's Wednesday. The Potions Club is meeting late and being generally awesome. Snape comes in and tells us he's going to bed, to lock up when we're done, not to touch anything What he does not tell us is that we may not throw a huge freaking party and invite everyone from HIH. So, that's what we do!

Wizarding Games: Number Ladders

Deadline: 29th July 2010. 5pm UTC. Timezones
Bonus Item: #61 Rune Dictionary or #62 Ancient Runes Made Easy. 10pts for either. Only valid if you earn over 10pts in this activity. Reply to the bonus comment for it to count.

This is a word ladder:

peaks
peak (removed a letter)
peat (changed a letter)
meat (changed a letter)
mat (removed a letter)
man (changed a letter)
mane (added a letter)
mine (changed a letter)
miner (added a letter)
minor (changed a letter)
manor (changed a letter)


Changing one letter each turn you get a new word. You can't use the same word twice and each word must be a real word. You can add letters, or remove them, or change one. But only one letter each time.

I'm going to post the start of several word ladders. You can comment to only TWO of these threads, but you can comment to each as many time as you'd like, you cannot reuse words within a thread.

If I find you posting to more than two threads, I'll disqualify you and you'll earn no points. If you reuse a word, that one won't count. Even BETTER. You can splinter off at any point from an existing game.

You can't reply to your own comment

Threads are counted from the end. SO. If a thread splinters off, previous people participating in the thread can continue in eihter branch, people joining must pick only one branch to participate in.

And here's the thing. The longest word ladder earns each person who participated in it +10pts. That's a single thread. So I'll go from the end and each name I pass I'll count.

Points: 2pts/comment MAX OF 20 COMMENTS for points you can do more to make your thread win, +10pts for being part of the winning thread.
