Activity: Who's Who: Famous Wizards Throughout History Part One
Points: 10 points, participation only.
Deadline: Monday, December 22 @ 11:59 PM EST.
Details: This is going to be a two part activity. Part one will be for everyone to submit the name of their favourite witch or wizard in literature, plus one bit of trivia about them. The trivia information must be readily researchable online. Everything from Shakespearian characters, to Tolkien wizards, to Arthurian, to more unknown stories (Dragonlance or Forgotten Realms characters), etc. are welcome. Part two requires everyone to guess each witch/wizard.
Rules:
1. No first person trivia.
2. Trivia MUST be researchable (whether by using the whole sentence, or by using key words, in a google search.)
3. Do not explicitly state the character's name (former names are allowed, since that doesn't completely give it away); initials are allowed.
4. Double check your clues to make sure they can be found using google, please.
5. If I ask you to reword your clues, and you don't get back to me before the deadline, I reserve the right to reword your clues for you.
Here are a couple examples of acceptable clues.
Ex 1: Slughorn; This character is described as preferring to be a "backseat driver", obtaining things he desires by using his contacts. [this is easily found on google, just copy/paste the entire sentence and it's one of the first results]
Ex 2: Merlin; This wizard is one of the most famous in history and literature; found in Arthurian legends, he is based on Myrddin Wyllt (a bard driven mad after witnessing the horrors of war), and Aurelius Ambrosius, a mostly fictionalized version of the historical war leader Ambrosius Aurelianus. [google search will take either the whole of this, or key names and words, to give you the right answer]
Comments will be screened.
