CHARACTER: Pinkie Pie
I chose to compare Cheering Charms and Pinkie Pie from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. PP is energetic and friendly and, like Cheering Charms, is intent on bringing smiles to people's faces -- often through song and dance (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNrXMOSkBas) or cupcakes or surprise parties. Cheering Charms are used to make people happy (obviously) and even the effects that they have on people when overdone (hysterical laughter) remind me of the manic energy of Pinkie Pie when she's excited.

CHARACTER: Bloat from Finding Nemo is a pufferfish who often becomes inflated suddenly, usually from his intense emotions, or sudden things that trigger his instinctual sense of preservation. Engorgio would fit Bloat because not only does he physically become larger, or more bloated, if you will, but he also has a big heart. He welcomes Nemo into the "Tank Gang" with a friendly smile, and remains spirited and dedicated to his pals in the fish tank, and eventually, the ocean.

CHARACTER: Bubbles from the Powerpuff Girls
I picked Bubbles for the Bubble-head Charm for three main reasons. First of all, her name is Bubbles so that is very fitting. Secondly, she literally has a bubble head. Just look and see how big her head is compared to the rest of her body. The proportions are way off. And the last reason is that she's metaphorically a bit of a bubble head in that she's a bit ditzy and clueless. In summary, her name contains part of the charm, she physically resembles the charm and she acts like the charm.

CHARACTER: Lord Voldemort.
I chose Diffindo as the charm that matches Lord Voldemort because I find them very similar. For one, he ripped/divided/separated his soul into different parts via horcruxes (even though he didn't use this specific spell to do it). This spell is very dangerous and deadly which also matches Voldemort really well. Diffindo is usually used to separate pieces of an object, though, as it has a slicing effect when it comes into contact with flesh.

CHARACTER: Sherlock Holmes (I'm thinking 09 Movieverse but whichever one works here)
Sherlock Holmes is a detective, before everything - what he does is unlock secrets; he finds things out from people by just looking at them and solves mysteries. This charm unlocks things just like his mind does. It's also a fairly simple spell and I think that Holmes actions seem simple (he looks at people, he remembers, and to him all this is easy) but if you look into the spell, it'd probably be ridiculously difficult to think of. I mean, imagine one spell working on so many things - it's a hard thing to comprehend - and that's Holmes in a nutshell to me; incomprehensible if you actually think about him and what he does.

CHARACTER: Sandy Cheeks (from Spongebob)
The Bubble-Head Charm is a charm that places a protective bubble around one's head so someone can breathe comfortably in water as if it were air. Similarly, being a squirrel (who breathes air, not the water in Bikini Bottom), Sandy Cheeks uses a near carbon copy of the Bubble-Head Charm to breathe comfortably in Bikini Bottom when not in her special, dry-air house. In particular, she wears a bubble on her head so that she can breathe, which is nearly identical to the charm!

CHARACTER: Dory from Finding Nemo
I think Dory from Finding Nemo is pretty much the poster child for the Memory Charm. This one is pretty obvious because anyone who has seen the movie knows that she has a terrible memory (both long term and short term) and can often be a little on the flaky side. Marlin will tell her something and within a matter of seconds she's forgotten it. Of course, she redeems herself (and shows that she can remember if it's important), but I still think the Memory Charm fits her well. I can't imagine a wizard would ever have to use it on her!

CHARACTER: The Doctor from Doctor Who. HI FELLOW DOCTOR WHO FANS prepare to be completely depressed by my reasoning for this. This is also a spoiler for Doctor Who season 4 (the one with Donna Noble), so tread carefully. But at the end of that season, after Donna accidentally absorbs some Time Lord energy via accidental contact with a severed hand, and then has that energy activated with the blast of an energy gun of sorts, she starts to get a little weird. She knows too much and humans can't have all that knowledge or she will die. The Doctor knows this, sadly, and so he knows he has to wipe Donna's memory of every single adventure the two of them had ever had together. She begs him not to, to make it stop somehow, but he has to basically cast the Memory Charm and make her forget every single thing. Even more painfully so, she can never remember or else she dies. OH GOD IT'S SO SAD

CHARACTER: Robert Baratheon
As soon as I saw the Refilling Charm my mind immediately went "ROBERT BARATHEON!" This Game of Thrones character is the King of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros and like many other kings, his specialties are drinking, wenching, hunting, and drinking more (+10 for emotional detachment.) This character is so fond of the ale/mead/what have you that it has lead some people to nickname his House (House Baratheon) as "House Drinking and Wenching" instead (in fandom, that is). He even dies because he goes drinking and hunting, a sure no-no. His alcoholism is so strong that after his death, his wife Cersei Lannister picks up the mantle (at least in the HBO show) and drinks her way through the rest of the series. This charm is sure to be Robert Baratheon's favorite :D NOW BOW, YOU SHITS.

CHARACTER: August "Auggie" Anderson, from Covert Affairs
As an operative for the CIA, Auggie is trusted with military and international secrets. His biggest secrets, though, tend to involve his lady friends and Annie Walker. Although he is very open about his past and how he became blind (due to an explosion while serving in the Army in Iraq), he keeps other things under the tightest of wraps. We have seen him do things as mundane as pretending to be the Smithsonian Institution switchboard operator to keep Annie's sister from discovering her real job, to pretending he didn't have any contact with the reporter leaking CIA information back in Season 1, to connecting Annie's tech needs so she won't be killed by the super-scary international criminal she's trying to track down from week to week. If that isn't keeping secrets to your very soul, I don't know what is!

CHARACTER: MacGyver
The Fixing Charm is a spell which fastens an object in place and I chose the character of MacGyver as compatible to it. MacGyver is a sort of secret agent and he goes places and troubleshoots problems for the agency he works for. MacGyver is best known for his ability to fix anything and everything using only the things found around him. However he always seems to have duct tape (hence the fixing charm) and his Swiss Army knife to help him take care of things.

CHARACTER: Alison Dilaurentis
This may or may not just be me alone on this because I am 12 years old and watch Pretty Little Liars but I picked Alison, the main character of the show to be the personification of the charm Epoximise. Epoximise is used to bond things together, like a glue. Alison does this on the tv show because she is the common factor linking this otherwise sort of random group of girls together. You've got a lesbian swimmer chick, an artsy hipster (& jailbait), a fashionista diva, and an overambitious star student in this group of best friends brought together and forever working together because of Alison. I think it might be arguable due to the grim circumstances and everything surrounding Alison...but it's an argument nonetheless.

CHARACTER: Bobby Drake from X-Men
Bobby Drake, AKA Iceman, has the power of cryokinesis - he can reduce the kinetic energy of atoms, effectively reducing their temperature (to the point of freezing them, if he wants). If he were a charm, Bobby would be glacius, which conjures freezing cold air. It can be used to create ice blocks, put out fires, etc. It seems like it's more or less his power in wand form. It would be interesting to know if the charm could be controlled to only lower the temperature to a certain degree... it can create a thick sheet of ice on a large body of water almost instantly, but how much of its effect was due to intent?

CHARACTER: Ned (Pushing Daisies)
The Harry Potter Wiki says, 'this charm will transfigure most things back to their original state'.
Ned the Pie Maker was the first fictional character that came to mind when I read that description, as he has the power to bring dead things back to life...and then kill them dead again. He uses this power primarily to solve murder mysteries, but it also comes in handy in running his pie shop- by bringing dead fruit back to life to make delicious desserts. Either way, he is reverting things back to their original state of being alive or dead ;P

CHARACTER: Puumbaa
A Cheering Charm basically is a spell that makes other people happy. Puumba is always happy. It doesn’t matter what is happening and who is trying to eat him, he’s just happy and joking and smiling. He’s funny and energetic and makes his friends laugh. When a Cheering Charm is overdone, it can cause someone to be overcome with fits of hysterical laughter. This just reminds me of Puumbaa and Timon lying around and laughing hysterically at some little thing. They are always in a good mood, even if it might not be entirely appropriate to be so!
