DIVINATION CLUB: Term XXII, Activity 2 - Teabags & Testimonials

You are trying to do an assignment about tea leaf readings, but as everybody has come up with the same idea, you notice the school supplies are running dangerously low. You instead have to settle for nettle tea. A friend, who is busy with Potions homework- asks you what it tastes like, and is curious if any of the nettle properties have made their way into the prediction. Intrigued with this idea, you thumb through an old copy of the Daily Prophet, and find an advertisement for unusual brands of tea. Tempted, you go to the Owlery to order a set to your common room.

Activity: Teabags & Testimonies
Points: 10pts for opening submission; 2 points for responses.
Deadline: 30th January @ 11:59PM UTC.
Details: The tea leaves have run out! The brand we usually use is out of stock, so we're going to buy some more. Design the packaging to a new box of tea for 10pts, and for 2pts add testimonials from satisfied customers.

Here's the rundown:

  • Please design an eye-catching packaging for a new brand of tea. It can be any sort of tea, regular, herbal, fruit, fusion, wizarding, whatever you please!
  • 10 points for doing so. Please make sure the graphic isn't more than 800px in combined dimension.
  • Freel free to make more than one if you enjoy this, but you'll only get the 10pts once.

  • Following on, other people please reply with short testimonies about how this brand of tea is the best you've ever tasted, and how it's way superior to whatever you drank before!
  • These don't have to be very long, and will be worth 2 points apiece. Fifty words (ish) should cover it. You may only hit a max of 20 pts for this part, so to hit the cap of 30 for this activity, you need to do both.
  • We want to be buying the best brand of tea on the market, so make sure these testimonies really motivate our shoppers to convert to it for keepsies! Satisfied customers are always a good indicator of a product, not matter how.... flowery their descriptions might become.

  • That's the bare bones of it. If you'd like to make something more detailed and magic-based, that's awesome, too (what would tea with an infusion of dried unicorn blood be like, for example?) Feel free to use any resources you like.... or just go for things that sound tasty. It's all good. :D

Usual reminder about the Roster: there's no grace periods with this, so make sure you're on it! The roster is below.

Also, I'll be starting up a nice thread that offers resources, should anyone wish to use them. These can be anything you like- bases, inspiration from real packaging, even ingredient combinations, or magical properties thereof. I figured it may be useful, though of course there won't be points from it. :)

That's it! Have fun! The results of the 2012 Predictions will be up later today or tomorrow. :)

The future will look bleak if you forget to sign the ROSTER!

This tea is amazing! Its blend of spices is subtly refreshing, with an aroma that brings to mind the scent of dew evaporating on the desert sands. The addition of real phoenix tears makes this the perfect pick-me-up brew, excellent for those little aches and pains. Highly recommended!

This is simply the best tea for Divination that I have ever tried! In my experience, the leaves are accurate in over ninety percent of cases, with the success rate even higher for children and wizards with red hair. In addition, the tea itself has a crisp, refreshing taste, with subtle citrus and floral flavours. Definitely one to try!

This tea is unlike anything I have ever tasted. It starts as a smooth, rich flavour on the palate, then small hints of spice begin to burst through like tiny fireworks. The whole effect is incredibly invigorating, and really makes one feel alive. Like the plant it was named for, this unique brew will ensnare the drinker completely.

The delicious flavour of blueberries makes this tea a joy to drink. It is a mild, soothing blend, with the addition of healing herbs that will soon have you feeling your best. Madame Mona is obviously a truly talented tea-witch, and this is a lovely addition to my collection. Highly recommended!

This tea is truly a mind-blowing experience! It will engage your senses to the fullest, opening you up to the mysteries of life and the world around us. An incomparable brew for those of us who truly wish to see the unseen and know the unknowable.

Claw of the Raven does everything it claims to and more. As soon as I took a sip, I could feel my mind beginning to clear. By the end of the cup, I was completing two different crosswords simultaneously, while answering deep philosophical questions from my five-year-old daughter. If you've ever wanted to be a better thinker, this is the tea for you.

This chamomile-based blend contains the perfect combination of smooth, soothing flavours to help you rest and relax. I like to drink it in the afternoon when I'm getting bored at work. A few minutes of dreamy calm, and I'm refreshed and ready for the task at hand. One of my absolute favourites!

Full of crisp, airy flavours, this tea brings to mind the heady feeling of standing atop a mountain peak. This brew will clear your head of cobwebs, and make you feel like you can accomplish whatever you set out to do. One of the best blends out there!

I don't know who Cholmondley is, but I owe him for taking me out of the dreary confines of your typical English teas. This tea brews so well, somehow capturing the flavor even long past the recommended time of brewing! This is helpful because I tend to forget so many things, you see, and the fact that this tea lasts past steeping minutes is fantastic. Beyond that, the flavor is rich, the aroma excellent, the tea leaves REALLY loose!

This tea is so restorative it will have you bursting into flames only to rise again from the ashes! I use it once a week, and I have never been so healthy. Or warm.

I LOVE this tea! My predictions have never come easily, but with this tea they just trip off the tongue. Not one customer complaint in the 6 months since I switched to this tea! I will never go back.

The elegant design of the packaging is nothing compared to the elegant taste of the tea inside. Once this tea has a hold of your taste-buds it will never let go. I will never drink my previous tea again.

The subtle sweetness of this floral tea is perfect for a pick-me-up on those dreary winter days. With this tea on hand, spring will never seem far away again!

This tea cured my ulcers! One sip is like a three week vacation and the best massage you've ever had all rolled up into one. I've never been so relaxed. My pet Snorkack and I each drink a cup a day.

The box does not lie. After drinking this tea your mind will be sharp enough to cut steal -- just ask me how I know. I used to have difficulty concentrating at work. My boss was on the verge of firing me. Since stocking this tea in my desk draw my focus has become legendary and I'm now the head of the department. Thanks Claw of the Raven!

It has a unique aroma, slightly smoky but not unpleasant, and is reputed to have been inspired by a blend of tea Helena Ravenclaw herself used. Whether or not this is true, Claw of the Raven does focus the senses, and surprisingly my mind has been all the clearer after drinking it.

An excellent choice if you have trouble sleeping. It works as well as a sleeping draught, but without the sometimes after-effects of a morning headache. I highly recommend it!

I found this blend to be similar to darjeeling, very light and with an unobtrusive mellow taste -slightly sweet. It comes in two varieties, and although the leaves themselves have no special coloration I suspect they are imbued slightly with felix felicis. Drinking it tilts your thoughts towards more lighter, optimistic things.

A perfect pick-me-up and ideal for lovers of more stronger tastes. It is of the rarer variety, and very difficult to find because whilst it lends the drinker surprisingly strength and dexterity, more than one cup a day causes acerbic tendencies in the consumer. It's worth the price however, and I recommend it to anyone in Slytherin who enjoys the more avant-garde varieties.

I will definitely recommend this tea to anyone who wants something to spice up their days. It's got a fantastic flavor that's subtle but catches you off-guard suddenly. I swear, it stops you in your tracks and petrifies you with a sudden burst of delicious basilisk juice. Definitely give this tea a try; you won't regret it!

Not just for the night time! I like to use this tea on days when I have some free time to indulge in the loveliest day dreams. Better than the more expensive WWW day dream product!

The most refreshing flavor I've ever found in a tea. This brew will have you walking on air for days. I recommend it to all my friends.

The Cholmondley Company sure knows their tea. Drinking a cup of this blend is just like chasing a dose of calming draught with a round of chocolate chip cookies: all the comfort of childhood in a fine loose leaf form. Perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Exhilarating! The perfect blend for the adventurous tea drinker. With ever sip a kin to taking your life into your hands, this blend is not for the faint of heart. However, its rare convergence of flavors will appeal to those people with the most discerning palates. I use it to choose my friends!
