Biography:
Lycoris Black fell in love with Cassandra Vablatsky the day she met the celebrated seer at a Divination convention the summer after Lycoris graduated. Despite the ten year age difference, which never truly mattered to the Blacks anyway, Lycoris and Cassandra began a relationship. They moved in together under the premise of Lycoris working as Cassandra’s apprentice. Lycoris took up modeling to make ends meet while Cassandra worked on her book, Unfogging the Future. Lycoris was betrothed at the age of nineteen to Newt Scamander, but a nasty case of dragonpox left her permanently and deeply scarred, which resulted in the Scamanders rescinding their marriage offer. Cassandra, who was blind by this point, enjoyed tracing the pox scars on Lycoris’ face and chest. Because of the scars, Lycoris’ parents dropped all attempts to marry off their only daughter. Lycoris was permitted to live with Cassandra for the rest of her life as the blind clairvoyant’s personal aid and secretary. If anyone in the family knew about the two women’s Sapphic inclinations, no one ever talked about them.
Then again, no one ever talked about much in the Black family.
