Dory could also be an example of a Memory Charm gone terribly wrong. Just as Apparating gone wrong results in getting splinched, which looks and sounds awful, having too many Memory Charms cast on you could turn you into Dory: unable to remember the most ordinary things like whether you're looking for Chico, Harpo, Elmo, or Nemo.
