Astronomy Club: Stars in Unusual Places

Activity Name: Stars in Unusual Places
Deadline: 22nd September 2011 5pm UTC
Bonus: Available at the Apothecary and Cauldron Shop.
#008 Collapsible Telescope OR #009 Antique Telescope (5pts for either)
#014 Star Chart (5pts)

Details: This month I want you to submit ONE piece of media that fits the prompt 'Stars in Unusual Places'.

This could be a photomanip, a drawing, a photograph, a song, a video, ANYTHING. The only criteria is that it has to be something you've had a hand in creating.

Rules:
  • Either the media must make an obvious reference to the theme or have explanation.

  • It has to be something you've created, so you can't just google a photograph or find a video on youtube.

  • (MS) Doodles, sketches, pasting a star or someone in a corner where it's obviously slapped on and I don't feel you've taken enough effort will gain you half points and ineligibility for the bonus item. This is for all you points grabbers and participation hitters, there's something easy here for you, but I won't give you as many points as someone who puts thought and effort into their work, because that doesn't really seem fair.

Points: 10pts for participation (5pts for the points-grabbers). Earn at least 10pts to qualify for the bonus item. +10pts for being chosen as the winner in any of the specific categories.

Categories
The Luna Lovegood Award: Most creative use of prompt
The Fred & George Award: Funniest
The Roger Davies Award: Most stunning
The Harry Potter Award: Best in show
The Dumbledore Award: Most refined and well executed
The Sirius Black Award: Most daring
The McGonagall Award: Most serious and HP related
The Hermione Granger Award: Over and above the 10pts you're getting for this

I'll even make you little banners. :)

Submit:

Remember, if you stare at the wrong star you can go blind.

Does the written word count for media? I'm not as good with art but am considering my options and the prompt could be great for a ficlet too; just don't know if that'll count or not. Thanks!

Do we have to use actual stars and galaxies, or are drawn pictures fine as well for photomanips?

For song does it have to be something we sing, or can it be like a chorus and a verse of something we write?

Oh, I was thinking that written could be enough but I now see the other comments/question as far as written media so I assume the same would apply?
