Wizarding Wear: Term XXVI, Activity 1: Fashion Trends

Activity: Fashion Trends - a discussion
Points: initial comment: 10 points, 2pts per additional comment
Deadline: May 15th, 21:00 UTC
Details: Every summer we have new fashion trends but do you like them? What would you change?
And do you think the Harry Potter characters would wear them?

So let's have a little debate. It's about fashion and I know that I love to talk about what models have been wearing on the runway (and well, when watching Germany's next topmodel I also laugh about the "models")
Anyways, like every summer there are some must-wears - at least that's what Fashion magazines tell us. But what do you think about these must-wears? Do you like them? Hate them? And would Hermione, Ron, Draco or Snape wear them? I googled some of the trends and posted the pictures so you have an idea what to talk about.

I have the answer for the pant things. Women's pants are often longer because they wear high heels. The result being that when women cross their legs, the pants rides up but because it's longer than men's pants we don't see women's ankles.

I feel like it can't just be that, though. I rarely wear heels, so my pants are all hemmed for flats---but my ankles still don't show. Maybe it's just that women's pants are often tighter and so don't ride up as easily? (I do get the feeling that my dress pants, which are looser than my jeans & cords, show more ankle.)

I wonder if some of it is how men cross their legs, too, so their ankles are more exposed than when women cross their legs? I don't know, but you are totally right. And it could be that women's pants are just more fitted to not do that than men's. I never thought about it before, but now I totally am sitting here pondering it! lol
