Wizarding Wear: Term XXVI, Activity 1: Fashion Trends

Activity: Fashion Trends - a discussion
Points: initial comment: 10 points, 2pts per additional comment
Deadline: May 15th, 21:00 UTC
Details: Every summer we have new fashion trends but do you like them? What would you change?
And do you think the Harry Potter characters would wear them?

So let's have a little debate. It's about fashion and I know that I love to talk about what models have been wearing on the runway (and well, when watching Germany's next topmodel I also laugh about the "models")
Anyways, like every summer there are some must-wears - at least that's what Fashion magazines tell us. But what do you think about these must-wears? Do you like them? Hate them? And would Hermione, Ron, Draco or Snape wear them? I googled some of the trends and posted the pictures so you have an idea what to talk about.

Hmm, well aside from the weather argument for the belted coats (I'm still wearing a jacket well into May because MN thinks it's still winter for some reason) - I agree with you on that one. Though part of me wonders if the nostalgia is just bubbling back up for the younger generations, similar to how many of us are saying that we like the 60's look. We like the clothing of the eras before us, or adversely, we despise them. So perhaps the younger generations are getting all nostalgic for the 90's and that's why it's making a comeback.

That's a good point, except the only people who were not alive in the 1990s are 13 or younger. And I guess if you include people who were under 10 back then, then 23 and younger. I suppose it's possible they are leading the trends. It just seems so odd to me! (I mean, in the grand scheme of things I'm glad it's 90s and not 80s. I just wonder who is so nostalgic for the 90s?)
