You've thought this through! It's interesting that you picked to change such a small and seemingly insignificant thing. Actually the long term consequences are frightening, especially with Gilderoy and Tom Riddle in the mix. I don't know if it would go off without a hitch because there are so many variables to consider, but it's definitely a challenging situation.
