DADA: Your DADA Posse

Everyone who has read Harry Potter realizes the importance of having the right people on your side (DA, the Order, Death Eaters, etc). So I was wondering who would you choose to have your back! Also every great posse had a awesome name The Order of the Phenix, Death Eaters, The Marauders, Dumbledore's Army (Ok so not every group.



Details
- You will have to come up with a group of 4 to 5 people and why you chose that person (Canon based- not fanfic based).
- You will come up with their Posse's name.
- You have to have a members from at least 3 houses represented on your Posse
- The members must be from Canon (ie, Marauders time, Harry's time, or professors - so not next gen).
- Make Comments on others people's posse make up that will lead/continue discussion. This isn't "Great Posse" or "I want to Join" or "Very Funny" try to aim for at least 25 words.

Points:
10 points - Making your Posse AND stating why people are on your posse!
2 points - For comments (25 words or more) on other people's posse's (up to 25 points)
10 pt max. for Bonus Item

If someone is to ask a member, "Did YOU do that prank?!" I'm sure Luna could be like "Oh no, you see there is an infestation of Ooglygoos in the castle. They did it of course." The person's eyes would immediately glaze over and they would agree. Good ol' Luna.

I think your reasoning for Draco is really interesting! I never would have picked him because I feel like, until he 'grew up,' he wouldn't really want to be friends with a Gryffindor, but you're reasoning makes it very interesting. You're right, he probably was bred for those things. He never gets in trouble, his father was a very powerful person, so he would be able to provide a safety net there.

I think Luna is a great addition. I can totally see people spacing out at her or avoiding the group in its entirety just to avoid her. I'm not sure how many people would honestly believe her, though.

Your reasoning for Draco is pretty interesting. I wouldn't have thought of Ministry interference as something to worry about when you're making a team against the dark arts, but now that you mention it, I think it's a great idea. As long as he has his father's charms and his mother's intelligence, he could talk his way out of anything.

Why he/she is on my posse Hermione is obviously the cleverest witch of her day. She's smart, freakishly so. She takes charge, she thinks things through, she isn't afraid to say "this is a bad idea." I'm pretty much the same way as she is. I'm pretty smart and I can also take charge when need be. I think that even though we might butt heads, we'd also very close.

Why he/she is on my posse Ron is pretty funny, I think. He also has a HUGE amount of angst going on like Harry, but he's a good guy. He would be a really good friend and he provides a good balance to the posse. He's good to go to if you just need to unwind and relax.

I know that the posse is supposed to be like 5 people, but I think that my posse would probably include Fred and George, and maybe Ginny. The Weasley family is always together. Fred and George always provide comic relief to every situation and Ginny is a strong person. They'd probably be around the posse on a daily basis, just like they're around the trio in the canon.

Why he/she is on my posse The quintessential ~cool~ kid. While everyone else is running around frantic, I imagine him just sort of sitting back and watching the show take place, but then fighting fiercely when the time calls for it. Sort of sardonic and self-confident without needing to be the center of attention, which works well with a couple of my other members.

Why he/she is on my posse I'm not sure I can think of someone more adept at Dark Magic, or a better Occlumens. Snape could trick our enemies into believing he is on their side, then take them out with a sectumsempra to the chest. He could brew a potion to heal us when we're down, and one to melt our enemies' arms off. When he isn't snarking or slicing, he'll be making up new spells for us to use to hang our enemies up by their ankles.

Why he/she is on my posse I am hard pressed to think of anyone who knows more protection spells. Flitwick has the power to protect our posse as we fight. When he isn't protecting us, he'll be using his prodigious dueling skill. He was a dueling champion when he was a young man, after all.

Why he/she is on my posse I'm not sure I need to explain this. He's one of the greatest magic-users who has ever lived. Voldemort eared him, Grindelwald was defeated by him, magic was changed by him. Also, Dumbledore is my ~soul mate~ and we will have a great deal of fun together kicking ass and eating delicious candy.

Persuasiveness is always a good thing when it comes to dealing with enemies. He might have picked up a few tricks from his mom. And he's probably fairly talented since he would up in the Newt Level potions class with was very selective prior to Slughorn taking over.

He's full of surprises, and surprised are good when it comes to war and battle and stuff.

Why he's on my posse Because he's the most badass wizard ever.

We never saw him live up to his true potential, he was handicapped by facing people he couldn't fully fight against (OotP, Minerva, Voldy), but this wizard is well-versed in using/defending against the Dark Arts, and was creating his own spells and improvements on potions from a young age, because he is just that hardcore.

He's been a spy (a triple/quadruple agent?) for over a decade, so he'd be a natural at infiltrating groups and advancing through the ranks to keep informed of what's going on. More than that, he'd be a kickass fighter and the best person to have at your back in a battle.

Why she's on my posse Okay, this chick set Snape on fire in her FIRST year at Hogwarts. There are no limits to what she'll do when the people she cares about are in danger! She's well-read, so she has a vast arsenal of spells to call upon in any situation, and she's grown into a quick and capable fighter.

Moral issues don't trouble her- if the situation calls for it, she'll definitely break all rules to accomplish her mission. She's stolen ingredients and had boys drugged in her second year, she's covered up a werewolf, kept a reporter in a jar, disfigured a girl (and Confunded a boy for personal reasons)...Hermione can put her conscience aside if it's a necessary evil, and she'll sleep well at night afterwards.

Why she's on my posse Cho trained with the DA, and she's a Ravenclaw, so we can count on her to know a wide variety of spells and do research for missions.

I value her loyalty the most- she stood by Marietta even after she was ostracized by the rest of the school- Cho gave up the boy she liked and earned people's disdain for Marietta. It may sound like a small thing, but for a teenager to become unpopular for a girl who's now universally loathed, that's really cool.

And considering the function of this group, someone like her is necessary, to be the heart of the posse, to provide some emotional support and validation, despite the dark things we might do. The average citizen might scorn us, but Cho will understand the necessity of our work, and fully support us.

Why he's on my posse He's morally conflicted, which makes him an easy target- he might initially go down the path of least resistance, but his vestigial conscience will give him some trouble, which we can exploit.

He'd make a great spy, because his sneering condescension and open prejudices make people underestimate him and think they know how his mind works and what motivates him- which means they'd let their guard down. Nobody would suspect Draco Malfoy of being a white hat- well, a grey hat. It's a better fit for him anyway- the typical hero's creed would never suit him (as if he would die, DIE rather than betray his friends!), being a spy and passing on information would be much more his style than open reckless heroics.

Why she's on my posse She's a METAMORPHMAGUS. I would take full advantage of this! No need for Polyjuice, she could impersonate our enemies to sow distrust in their alliances. She also has Ministry connections/resources for our use.

Tonks is strong-willed- she fell in love with a werewolf, despite widespread prejudice, she defies the beliefs of supremacist relatives, goes against the Ministry, willing to see the truth rather than hide from it, and joins a renegade group in order to fight the good fight. So she'd fit right in here. And with all the gloom-and-doom of murky saving-the-world business, we need her clowning around to relieve some of the tension!

Why he/she is on my posse I know we only needed 5 members, but I really wanted to include Hagrid but still have 3 different houses represented. So, if one of the previously listed declined their invitation to my prestigious and awesome-sauce posse, Hagrid would be my next choice. I don't think he gets as much credit as he deserves. He is fiercely loyal and comes with such a mixed bag of knowledge. He has street smarts, knows how to get information and is willing to do anything for his cause. He has extensive knowledge of magical creatures and their uses as well. He is intimidating in size, has connections in Diagon Alley and could rally a few magical creatures / giants on our side.

Why he/she is on my posse Cedric is young, atheltic and an exceptional wizard. He is trustworthy and fair which he demonstrated during the Tri Wizard tournament and he's an older student so he has more experience with more difficult spells.

Why he/she is on my posse The only wizard that Voldemort feared, I'd like to think that in itself is enough explanation, however there are other reasons. Dumbledore is wise, strong, and fair. He is a born leader but is not so arrogant that he will not seek advice from others. Plus he reminds me of a grandfather the way he is always looking out for Harry and the students. I think had Bellatrix met him early in her life she would've totally been on Dumbledore's side :p

Why he/she is on my posse Let's face it, Diggory has got to be pretty talented and smart for his name to have been chosen by the goblet of fire for the tournament. I like to think he's a good wizard and knows how to defend himself properly. He is also very fair and I have a feeling he would never leave anyone behind.

Why he/she is on my posse I feel like Luna would come up with so many odd, interesting ideas that could really get you out of tight spaces. She's the one who thinks VERY outside the box and sometimes that's a really good thing (like when she suggested flying on thestrals to London!). Also she's always aware of everything, even if you don't think she is.

Why he/she is on my posse Neville got so AWESOME in the Deathly Hallows that I know he got so much confidence and could be a super good Death Eater Destroyer. I mean, he kills Nagini with Gryff's sword. Awesome, right? Also, Neville is probably one of the MOST loyal people we are introduced to in the series, and I know he would never let me down. Same goes for Luna, really.

Why he/she is on my posse Let's face it, Severus is incredibly talented. He's a master potions maker and knows a LOT about the dark arts. He's also very clearly an able spy. More than able, I would even say. I think dealing with him might be difficult, but he's got great strategy, is incredibly smart, thinks on his feet, and remains very, very loyal.

Why he/she is on my posse Moody would definitely be somewhat of a group leader. This guy has been an Auror forever and would know the ins and outs of everything - he may be paranoid, but can get you out of tight spots, think up great strategy (esp. with Snape!), is always aware of everything going on, and incredibly smart. He's also very talented and very feared/hated. This may draw attention, but Moody is really such a talented person that it wouldn't matter.
