I agree with the people who say that Cormac McLaggan was unfit to be in the Slug Club. He is really nothing but a braggart. To me, he seems like he would do anything to impress another person (doxie eggs, anyone?). It's very unSluggy, I think. Although I can see Slughorn sucking up to people, Cormac I think, just wants everyone to like him, no matter if they have connections or not.

Also, I'm kind of confused about the Hermione not being in the Slug Club, wasn't she? She was invited to the Christmas party.

I agree. I never saw Cormac's appeal to Slughorn (unless his family was ridiculously connected.. which I dont remember being the case). He seemed very unspectacular and boring to me. Nothing of any worth about his character sticks out in my head. I also found him to be rather pompous and dull, neither of which appeal to Slughorn.

I also agree. The only reason Cormac was selected was because there actually was someone in his family (an uncle I think?) who was famous. Yeah HP Wiki says that his uncle was famous, although for what it was I don't remember. That was the only reason Cormac was in the club though.

And yeah, Hermione was in the club.
