‘Right’ is subjective. Your ‘right’ and my ‘right’ are not the same. I will not be limited by someone else’s version of ‘right.’
By censoring media, the government delays exposure to such things until children are old enough to understand the messages.
Old enough to understand, or old enough to be out of reach of their parents enough to explore those topics more? I was exposed to numerous ‘adult topics’ as a child, and yet I am much more law-abiding (and respectful, for that matter) than the average kid my age I see. Just because I knew about “Good touch-bad touch” when I was four– does that knowledge compel me to go and get touched by strangers? And, by the same token, did having quite a vast knowledge of swear words (and just blatant racially disrespectful remarks, courtesy of my dear grandfather) compel me to swear and make slurs? I abhorred the idea of swearing from a young age, and I still detest the remarks my grandfather makes.
