Name: Chelsea

Age: 18

Name Your favorite bands/artists (as many as you like): I'll try to keep this list as short as possible. Billy Joel, James Taylor, Stevie Wonder, Coldplay, The Shins, The Dresden Dolls, Incubus, Franz Ferdinand, Ben Folds, Matt Hayes (Aqualung), Queen, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Minstrels of Mayhem, Norah Jones, Pat Benetar, The Remnants, and about a whole lot of others.

What was the best concert you've ever attended? I haven't been to many, because I don't like crowds and my ears are sensitive, but I'd have to say a Salvador concert. I know that seems odd, but I love latin music, and they got everyone dancing salsa and having a blast, it was just way too much energetic fun. My friends and I were sweating!

Do you listen to the radio? All the time. Usually online radio.

Do you listen to alot of older music (70's, 80's, 90's), or mostly current music? All kinds. From the old standards to the babies of today, I will listen to it. However, I do prefer some Porter over Incubus. :P

Do you want to work in the music business or in a music-related job? (singer, music journalist, manager, teacher, etc.) : I am a singer. It's how I make my bread. I live in Nashville, my father's a song writer, and I sing most of his demos. It's not that I really want to be a singer, it's just that I kind of have to.

What is the extent of your musical education? 5 years of piano, 3 years guitar, 8 years of professional voice lessons/choir, 5 full length stage musicals (Oliver!, Into the Woods, 42nd Street, Angry Housewives, and Magdalene). I've sung many demos and showcases, random shows and church services.

Would you like the Music Club to focus more on commercial music, traditional music, or another type? (In other words, what kind of activities would you like to see?) I don't know about activities, I'm not that creative with things like that, but I'd love to see maybe a discussion on the old standards/classics/musicals of the past century. It would be fun. :]
